Without going through the "bible" of cc rules i think somewhere it states ,that gas cylinders must be able to fit in the gas lockers of RVs

    Not banned but restricted.

Most caravans and motorhomes have Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) systems fitted as standard. We strongly advise that members have their gas system checked by a "Gas Safe" registered fitter annually, before use.
The maximum size of LPG cylinder permitted on site is 15 kilograms. Cylinders should be stored upright in the locker provided by the caravan or motorhome manufacturer. The Caravan Club strongly advises against the use of external LPG cylinders on site.
Members who do use external LPG cylinders must ensure that the cylinders are secured adequately, to ensure they cannot be knocked over or accidentally fall.
If you are absent from the site for more than 24 hours, external cylinders must be disconnected and stored in the site's compound until your return.

You will notice an interesting use of words

"The Caravan Club strongly advises against the use of external LPG cylinders on site"

Strongly advises is not the same as prohibits.

i think that cylinders upto 19kg are recognised as being freestanding and not required to secured.  Personally I wouldn't use a 19kg cylinder just too heavy I have on occasions used a 13kg propane cylinder but these will fit in my locker just.

As said: limitations on size and must be secured.
