It's not in the right colours there's blue for information but I can't begin to tell you how hard it was to get it to copy and worse to paste know the thread. The thread is bound to be in the wrong section sorry in advance.

The way I understand it is that and new members to the community now have there first three posts approved before they are published publicly.  However, at the moment, these posts are all being approved by the Community Manager and not by the moderators.  Hope I've got that right!

Thanks David. A positive from the upgrade? Wasn't trumpeted about 😉

It certainly seems to have got rid of all those kitchen ads and similar.  I fondly remember pulling on to MacDonald car park one morning deleting literally hundreds of ads that kept coming up.  As soon as I Deleted User one another came up.  I know that 'Dave' was doing something similar elsewhere.  The 'good ol' days'.... laughing

I saw this a few weeks ago.

It is a positive move and a tool which many good forums employ but surely it should be for the poster alone to see and not on general display?

I have been on other forums where they show the warning - I think its a positive move those ads were atrocious!

Oddly enough, I was thinking a similar thing too this morning.  It doesn't come up when I use my phone - unless I've somehow managed to miss it.  I'm on my laptop today, but 99% of the time I use my phone for CT, so I'd not noticed it before.

I'm using my phone first time I've seen it.

I think I quite like it but not certain especially on the introductions,  but it does give a heads up that it's a new poster now that the stars have gone. No I don't want to start a series about stars or lack of - but it was easy to recognise a newbie. (For every up there is a down 😉)

Yes it is great not to have all those kitchen ads 😃. How quickly we forget as I haven't seen any for months and months now you come to mention it 😂

Perhaps it's another website blip, David. Certainly, I don't think we posters should be seeing it as it's a private matter between CT and the newbie. I've already reported one issue with old pages appearing this morning but there are so many ongoing issues still.

    Hi guys,

DSB is correct, new non-member posters will have their first 3 posts moderated before they can post freely on CT. This is to minimise the risk of spam. you can read more about it in the Community Guidelines.

Unfortunately, a 'blip' in the site means that this warning to new posters is showing to everyone... we're working on that!

I've gone back to my phone now just to check. I can't see any evidence on here with regard to the 3 posts warning for new members to CT.

Yes, it's good not to have those adds.  Another thing we don't get now..... BPS - blank page syndrome.  laughing   Those were the days..... laughinglaughing.

Careful with such sweeping statements there David.

I have never seen them before on phone laptop or my now rendered read only Kindle 😔.

Hopefully they will be a positive and stop spam. However does this 'blip' mean another fix with a  knock on effect? It seems we stagger along and allegedly the issue is resolved but causes other issues. An example is the multiple posts - allegedly stopped by a fix but multiple posts still appear occasionally and one press doesn't always work. CL search  .............  Ho hum😆

I was about to add that it was non-members but I then saw Rochelle's post. With members the Club have all their details anyway. It was one of the things that moderators, and no doubt others, requested be put in place to prevent the mass spamming.
