I seem to recall mention in the past reviews some CLs having these sort of facilities at the adjacent public house or leisure centre, but I cant remember where.  If I wanted these sort of things I'd be on a plane to Cyprus and do it in the sun.

Yep, that's fine, I don't mind what extra facilities sites have, just as long as the site fee is not inflated to pay for  facilities we would not use.

Happy to pay for toilets/showers/dishwashing/laundry facilities, even a play area and a dog walk, but would not want all sites to have swimming pool/ shops/ bakery/pub/ entertainment if it means we have to pay for them whether we use them or not.

We make our own entertainment, go off site to see the area every day, for  us a site is just a base to explore the surrounding area.

We have used the CC Looe site twice, a couple of years back in Late September, the pool was closed, and about 18 years back in August when we specifically booked it as we  had our daughter, a keen swimmer, with us.

She was most disappointed to find  that, when she went to swim while we were preparing our meal, after  we returned from a day out, the pool was closed as the lifeguard had clocked off.  Was probably no later than  17.30.

She never did get a swim.

I have on occasion used sites with pools as part of a touring holiday when kids were young. We would not have been interested with an inside pool as we would have used a local indoor swim pool near home. Like you, if we stopped off on a site for 3 nights then we would have been off site much of the time. Outdoor pools are more attractive in warm weather and closing at that time might have limited their usefulness for us. Having said that, when I was a young lad I often went to a local pool and loved to go when it was raining.
