Is there a thread that states which CC sites (notCL's) will be subject to temporary closures in 2017?  e.g I know Grassingron and Castleton are but it would be good to have a sticky that details which and the dates affected so we can see at a glance.

I think things have superceded that. Hawes was going to be such but I understand the Right hand side of the access road will be open as a non facility site. The 2017 price list makes no mention of closure or ammended pricing.

Just noticed - 4 prime sites in a similar area all closed/partly closed till mid summer or later:

Hawes not fully re-open (with toilet block) till end June. (Some pitches re-open earlier but no toilet block)

Grassington Wharfedale due to re-open July.

    Knaresborough due to re-open August.

Castleton due to re-open 14 August.

Looking on map at proximity of these sites surely this is bad planning to lose such prime sites for more than half a year simultaneously? And will undoubtedly overload bookings at other sites in similar area at weekends (already the case).

I'm also disappointed that the info is

    a. Not in new directory

    And

    b. On the website appears almost as an afterthought for all these sites (you need to look for it - not highlighted at all).

I was going to stop off at one of these on my travels but found a commercial site instead.

Look in UK sites for site redevelopment lists.

I notice that not one of the Scottish sites is involved in the redevelopment!! Does the club have secret information on the outcome of a future Scottish Independent election?wink

Not been round them all, but the ones we have have all been pretty good without need for an update just yet.

Why cant all this work be done in Winter when most of the sites were closed? Surely the club has a list of sites to upgrade and can have plenty of time to sort out planning and costings. Why also lose income when closed when we want to use them.

Not condoning the closure of 3 sites in Yorkshire at the same time, but they are all open until early January (as is Castleton) they don't close in Oct/Nov, so aren't closed all winter.  We were at Wharfedale early December and were told that work would be starting as soon as the site closed in early January.  In fact, while we were there, half the site was cordoned off due to tree work.

I've no idea how the club organise this work, is it local labour, or in house? If in house, perhaps the proximity of the sites is planned to allow the same people to be shared. Just a thought.🤔
