It's dark here now. This is the part of the day I hate the most. Three and a half hours left to work, driving at night. Addresses are harder to find at night when you can't see the door numbers. Some doors don't even have numbers displayed at all. The worst is finding addresses on streets where there are only house names and no numbers! They are hard to find in daylight let alone at night!

Back into action, another order, Efes this time, Turkish cuisine.

Finished the Efes delivery. Efes always seems a bit pricey to me but they seem to be popular with the customers. I suppose if you're keen on lamb kebabs, it could be worth it! Their moussaka looks tempting too!

No more orders at the moment but at least we can park in the town centre. The parking restrictions end at 18:00 except for the loading bays which are 19:00. As it's 19:12 we are now parked in the loading bay opposite Barclays Bank waiting for the next order. Two hours and forty-five minutes to go before we finish tonight. If we can get away before 10 p.m., we can make it back to the site before the barriers lock for the night at 11 p.m.

It's rather quiet in town at the moment. Just a few people wandering about.

Just got a Macdonalds order. This customer is going to get a fast delivery because we're already parked close to Macdonalds, so no travelling to get there! The delivery address is only a few minutes away with less traffic now that the rush hour is over. It's just a question of how quickly Macdonalds can serve it up! They're a lot quicker when there are less customers which is usually the case on a Monday night!

Thats the Macdonalds delivery done. There was a bit of a queue at Macdonalds and the customer wanted extra cheese and extra bacon on each item which took longer because if it's not a standard order and has to be specially prepared, it takes longer. It's gone quiet again now. Two more hours to go until we finish and then a late dinner for us when we get back to our caravan! Then up early tomorrow to take the car in for its MOT.

Just been shopping at Lidl in the Worthing town centre and bought some microwave food so that we can get a quick meal from it when we get back tonight as it's going to be rather late so no time to do any proper food preparation and cooking.

There've been no further orders since we finished the last one at 20:00. It was like that last Monday too but we still have to be close to the town centre just in case.

We also had a look in at the town centre Tesco, just to help pass the time and found some reduced price rocket and pancakes.

Now only 45 minutes to go until our official finishing time.

Nice  Mr  Dentist  checked  the  site ( Crater  --  His  term surprised )  of  the  extraction  last  week,  seemed  quite  satisfied  but  added  a  plug  of  something  like  chewing  tobacco ( His  term  again )  to  keep  bits  and  bobs  out  &  speed  the  healing **

Then  the  usual  swift  jabs  before  he  removed  the  D G B Wisdom  tooth  --  with  some  difficulty  I  must  admit  embarassed.  The  piece  of  tooth  that  he  showed  me  had  a  damned  hook-like  excrescence  on  the  roots  bottom  so  that  meant  a  couple  of  stitches  !

Lovely sunny day in East Norfolk so first thing to do is wash my filthy car.  Bird watching is a great hobby but the downside is a car that looks as if its been driving around a sugar beet fields.

The sun is streaming in through the window as a type this. I'll be off for my daily walk soon then it's off to the footie this evening. Grandson and me off to the training ground for something to eat before the match. The club put on activities for children before the match and being members we can park the car and walk to the stadium. Another big crowd expected for the visit of Aston Vanilla.

Beautiful sunny day here and not too cold either.  We have just got home after Mr H's 2nd cataract op.  All seems to have gone as well as the first so hopefully we shall be off on our first trip away at the beginning of April as planned.laughing.  Not such good news is that Mr H decided to wash his car yesterday and found someone had dented the nearside rear panel near the wheel arch.  He took it to our local car body repair people and the guy there said it looked as though someone had reversed into it.  Must have been recent as we hadn't noticed it. Probably happened in a car park over the weekend.yell

Good to hear Mr H op gone well. Darn nuisance about dent in the car, people have no compunction at doing it and driving off 😣.

Lovely sunny morning still trying to get out to garden 😣🙄. Meeting a friend early afternoon in town so it's no going to happen. But I have got laundry, bed changing and ironing up to date. Hubby managing to cracked on with some of the garden beds.

Thanks EasyT. We got up at seven this morning and were away by 07:45. We got stuck in traffic on the turn off towards Southwick but still made it in time for the MOT. We were there by 08:45 and it was booked in for 09:00.

We hired a car to go away in from Enterprise Car Rental. They collected us at 09:00 as arranged to take us to their Hove depot to collect the car. Then we drove back to our caravan and had a home cooked lunch for a change!

Now we just have to wait to hear from Mitsubishi about whether or not it passed the MOT. They said it would be ready this afternoon but didn't stipulate what time, so I've got the car rental booked until 16:30. If it does need any extra work doing, w're hoping they'll be able to do it today as the existing MOT expires day after tomorrow.

I hope not, SELL! It's the Mitsubishi dealer that is doing it this time, so hopefully it will get through. Although I left it with them at 08:45 and it's now 13:00 but not heard anything yet. So I'm hoping no news is good news!

Looks like a claim for your insurance, Milliehull. You should be all right as long as you've got protected no claims bonus.

It seems much warmer here at Alderstead Heath than on the south coast but the sun does seem to be in and out. When it goes in, it gets a bit chilly.

It's nearly 2 p.m. now but not heard anything more from Mitsubishi yet. We'll need to leave here in one hours time anyway because of having to return the hired car at 4.30 p.m. so hopefully, I'll get a call from them soon to let me know whether or not it has passed its MOT. If it fails, there's not much time left today to fix whatever caused it to fail and retest for the pass certificate. How long does it take to do an MOT test? They've had the car for five hours now!

Delighted  to  hear  of  Mr  H's  successful  cataract  op.

That's  the  one  good  thing  about  the  Annual  Diabetic  Retinopathy  Checks  ==>  my  Optician  takes  time  to  study  the  implants    for  signs  of  anything  wrong,  and  once  again  she  said  "All  is  Looking  good  --  both  ways  ( GIGGLE )"

If its not too big a repair then it could be better paying for it yourself and not notify your insurance company.

Although the no claims bonus could be unaffected and safe, it will be recorded a 'non fault claim' and there could/will be a hike in the premium next year. As its recorded it will be on the database accessible to every insurer.

This happened in a car park, foolishly notified insurance and bodyshop 'popped' it out in 5 minutes with no markings after a good polish over. Insurance premium doubled the next year but protected NCB still safe.

Sounds ominous if just an MOT, are you not having a service as well?

Both ours have service and MOT together and we get a free pick up by the dealer usually.

If no free pick up then I either take a book to read and just wait till the car is ready, go for a walk if it is nice weather, or get the bus home and return when they tell me the car is ready.  If it needs work we discuss over the phone, get a price and tell them to keep it till it is fixed.

Sounds like a logistic nightmare having 2 cars but only one driver!

Thanks Dave FL2.  Yes we fell foul of that a few years ago so we won't be notifying the insurance company.  £80 quoted for the repair so we shall just grin and bear it. Very annoying though that people just drive off.  Our hairdresser was just coming out of a shop recently and saw a woman parking next to her and dent her car and then just walk off so she sat in her car and waited for her to come back. She said the woman's face was a picture when she saw her sitting there waiting for her. Glad you got your dent sorted out

Been glorious day here. Never got out to do any gardening, but hubby managed to fill brown bins, which won't be collected til next week.

I'm trying another set of daily contact lenses but have just removed them. They're great for distance but even with cheap reading glasses not able to read clearly for any length of time. I've got another sort to try I've done one day but the opticians only had prescription for right eye left ones should be in very soon. Got to make my mind up whether to continue with fortnightly or daily once I've tried out these and ones I'm waiting for. I'm not sure the increase in cost is justified.
