I've got a new game we can play
"Spotted, The Caravan Club Logo"
I'll go first.......
Recieved my new style magazine today, most of it with the new brand....... but they had forgotten to update the franking mark!
BTW, contrary to the note to the left, I am not a "Motorhomer", I'm a "Campervaner"

I liked the Caravan Club because we are Caravaners . We were tempted by the friendly people at the Camping and Caravanning Club but as 'Caravaners' felt the CC was likely to be more accommodating.
Don't have any problem with Camper-vans but what on earth is a motor home? In our experience an American style Winnebago bus.
What are you doing Caravan Club ? Is Jeremy Corbyn at the helm here too ? You are out of touch with your membership and are on an unsupported trajectory which will lead to failure.

You are thinking of an RV, H1.
A motorhome is exactly the same thing as a motorcaravan but it's a slightly shorter word to say. Go on, try it out loud and you might even get to like it.
I, too, used to be a caravanner but tempus fugit, needs must and all that. Underneath I am still the same person and only my wheels have changed. I still belong to both clubs and I still will no matter what they call themselves. I still holiday in my van and I still couldn't care less what units other people have or what logos are dotted about the place.

Really??????
As an individual what can you do?
What are you going to do? Apart from posting your feelings on here, are you going to refuse to use sites that have motor caravans/ homes pitched on them?
That's your perogative. Like I said what's done is done. How can welcoming other leisure vehicles with open arms lead to the demise of the club, when additional members from other walks of life generate more cash into the club????

I doubt that Buraburas. I dislike intensely the failure of CC management to communicate with its members on this and on many items. I do not believe all that we are told either with regard to such things as being able to select hard standing when booking. I think that if that was permitted that there would be a loss in revenue with unsold grass pitches and hence no chance. The management will not change its mind having gone so far.
Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!
"Charge for the guns!" he said:
Into the valley of Death

So all the expenditure of rebranding will now be doubled to change it back???
I'm sure that will go down even better

You're not in the "Embrace it" camp then?

It has been said before that a motor caravan/home is just a caravan with an engine.
I, for the life of me can't see where this predudice comes from 🤔

There's no place for optimism whilst there is still space available on the moaning bandwagon

Quite so. It is one thing for people to voice their views, which they are perfectly entitled to do, but the change has been made. It's not up for negotiation. Many posts in this thread have actually pointed to the reasons behind why the Club made the change. The problem with threads like this is that people don't (and who could blame them) go back and read 1200 odd posts. We are now called The Caravan and Motorhome Club and it ain't going change in the foreseeable future I imagine.

It can be called Caravan Swingers International for all I care. All I'm interested in is sites located close to where I want to be.
A more diverse membership would be nice though, I hope the Club achieves its goals.

800,000 members in this club, a few hundred activists are not going to make the difference you are hoping for.

One of my major concerns, apart from the profligate waste of money on this 'ego project' is the cavalier way that the CL owners have been treated, involving them in considerable disruption and expense. Add in the totally crass implementation of the website that has also impacted on their businesses and I am beginning to wonder if the CAMC wish to the see the CL network wither on the vine in favour of more profitable income streams. They've got to generate the income to fund this exercise somehow.
