I think another one of the things that is not fully explained is when a motor caravan became a motor home? as even the chairman when we spoke to him on at Birmingham on wednesday was saying "we have to embrace all,and since the club voted to allow Motor Caravans to be admitted in 1962 there has been a big increase in their membership

At first glance it looks like it might be a little better than the last one. I will reserve judgement however until I see it in the fleash so to speak.

Not sure that the contrast is great however.

A number of members found the last one hard to read and as the club listens to its members it will probably be fine won't it??

It's a very 'busy' map and the colours do blend rather than contrast, but I suppose each individual will see it differently.

Not even the new logo and the promise to Inspire, Simplify, Pioneer and to be Inclusive?

Now there is a wonder and a surprise.

Did you explain the significance of the new and vital logo? If so could you explain it to the rest of us as the club seems unable to do so.

I welcome change however only if it is to provide a better all-round service from the CC..... sorry C and MC.

What is the point of the new logo? Perhaps if the club really wished to make positive changes then maybe some of the cash could have been spent assisting members.............such as some research and comparison  of warranties on new caravans and motorhomes? I can  think of a few more!

Hmmm.........I somehow don't believe  we will ever see this. It might upset manufacturers.....I can almost hear the frantic phone calls to head office now..... whereas I would see it as a little bit of pressure on manufacturers to get their acts together and hence up the whole caravan and motorhome experience.

As a "Pioneer" I decided to lead mine to that brave new world outside my back door.....otherwise known as the smilebin. The world has not ended. My way of managing change.

I cannot see that the new name will affect anyones view of the club but it keeps a section happy and in itself would have little cost. It did not need a letter to all members and could have been done by a note in or with the magazine for far less.

The new logo is another matter and as far as I can see it has achieved the impossible and got everyone to agree that it is rubbish.

I have accepted all that's been done but now 'management' have upset my wife, and I have got to live with her surprised

She looked at the new sites book cover and the map cover, not a caravan in view, just a solitary Motorhome yell I made her a cup of tea and told her I will personally write to the Chairman sealed This time they have gone too far, we are the poor relation wink

This is a total waste of time and money.  I have been involved with two organisations who have in the first case changed the logo, and in the second altered the name and logo.  Who benifited, the agency that designed the new logos.  No one else.  In fact 5 years after the name change, one organisation is still known by the old name!!

This time and money should have been channelled into new and improved sites, not some bright idea of the Committee.

The original brand name and logo had credibility.  Think you have just thrown it down the toilet emptying point.

Can we all transfer our membership to a club that encompases all types of caravan and recognises its well known and respected brandsmile

Perhaps if you told her it was a Motor Caravan it may help to placate her.smile

Or just tell her Motorhomes are the future and get down to your local dealer and get up to datewink

I did go through a similar scenario when working and wondered if it was the same firm but the dates did not work. We did save money by redesigning our own logo though and it was just as bad as one we could have commissioned but at least it was our own. To be honest the name change was broadly welcomed as the original was just too unwieldy.

I am sure you would get a great welcome if you joined in a rally here. Have a look at the SCC Handbook by opening the pdf link.

It has always been a club for caravaners and since 1962 has accepted motor caravaners as is the official name, not a made up name to sell them

What will the new cl sign look like after a couple of months in the wind and rain and road spray the logo looks a bit dull unless it has a light background.

It was sometimes very difficult to see the old one when stuck in the hedge row.
