Car Mats

Why are car mats so expensive?    Just picked up the new car yesterday and it didn't have any mats.   Negotiations with the dealer didn't prove forthcoming so thought we'd just buy a set.   On checking, they are £98 per set of 4 for our car - what justifies this price (no wonder the dealer didn't want to give me some!).   Have scoured the auction sites/etc and although I can get some 'made', there are no official ones to be had.

I'm afraid if you want a good fit then we are at their mercy. I bought Landrovers rubber fitted 'mats' and were expensive initially but over time have paid for themselves in protecting the cars carpeting.

Some car forums have an official dealer who sponsors the site, also giving discounts on parts etc.

I had a set purpose made for my BMW in colours of my choice and a logo for a lot less than £98.
