Caravan and M'home Club UK Sites app for WINDOWS
When will members be able to download a "Caravan and Motorhome Club UK Sites app" for Windows mobile devices?
It is about time this was addressed by the C&M Club hierarchy. There are a lot of people (My wife and I included) who cannot use the Caravan and Motorhome Club UK Sites app because it is only written for Apple or Android.
So please, get onto this ASAP and resolve this discrimination, it really is not fair to a lot of our members.
Thanks, Philip

Unfortunately Philipandtrica I fear you may be out of luck. If you look at this web site which shows operating system market share, you will see why.
On it there is a pie chart which indicates operating share for each type of device. If you select desktops you will see windows has about a 75% share of the market. Change it to phones and tablets and it's share is not even shown, falling as it does in the 10.91% of other devices. As the apps are written primarily for mobile devices there will not be that many requiring it and given the development costs, numbers matter.

I'm shocked. What a (doubtless) huge, utterly pointless and complete waste of money.
To whom it may concern:
1. How much will this cost please?
2. What will be the % p.a. ROCI, (return on capital invested) over the first five years of this project?

Philip, I also have a windows phone, I'm please to learn that you have one too as a friend of mine insists I must be the only one in the world..
I fear that apps are dying for windows phones, Ebay have recently withdrawn theirs, and from March EE have announced that their app will no longer be supported either..
Most of the time I just use websites via Internet Explorer rather than apps in any case.

I've yet to have satisfactorily explained to me what an App does that a webpage doesn't.

In some cases CY the web site does more. On the Amazon App for instance it won't let you buy kindle books. You can buy anything else but not the books. You have to go on the web site for that.
I find however, they are generally more suited to the mobile environment, and easier to use on a phone or tablet than the web site equivalent.

There is of course the other major difference for a lot of apps, in that a much of the functionality can be used offline. We never take our site book on tour, however before the app an internet connection was required if you wanted to make a change. Although this is not normally a problem, now if none is available the app can be used in connection with a phone.
