I hear the CC has acquired a new site with swiming pool and bar, on the south coast. Due to open in March.

Anybody got any info on this??

Not seen anything. It would be good news and they would be trumpeting it true so I doubt it.

Now that would have been worthy of promoting an announcement at the NEC. I fear just rumours without substance as it would have trumped the one they hyped up. 😉

I wouldn't get overexcited. Most likely to be an AS. Still, a £1 off for members, just like the one up at Shrewsbury.

I fear that the CC (sorry, C&MHC) is more in the business of selling sites rather than buying........frown

Speculation, assumption, all that keeps the regulars busy. Wouldn't want to spoil your fun.

This thread is a speculative stab at the club acquiring a new site, nothing to do with any other news the club has advertised, which has in my opinion given the regular posters their fun in their usual way.

I don't understand what you find sad in what could possibly be good news. Just saying.

Not that many regular posters are taking part in the dreadful negativity, JK.

The club would do better to open a new site in the Essex or Suffolk part of the country , some nice places there laughing

    Agreed.

    Broadway. Cadeside. Minehead.

Any news on when we're losing these JK?  Some of us didn't believe the post truths put out by HQ last year

Oh well, disbelief, speculation and assumption, that's what CT's all about eh?

    Why would I spoil that?

Why resort to sarcasm when CC's actions regarding those 3 sites have been uncovered by the very poster you ridicule, JK? Obviously you're in the dark.

I don't see it either way TW. Dreadfull is a bit strong in my view though, being an employee and all that, just saying.

Pointing your finger at the wrong members JK, all the negativity is from 'unknowns' to CT.

I said the negativity is dreadful. Surely, as an employee you don't think it's justified.

Dave has explained my point - it's not the regulars who are being negative.

Not all are unknown posters. I am not. I have no problem with a name change by CC. I do have a problem with being inconvenienced by no site book and not to be made aware of such exciting promotional claptrap about we explorers in advance. The lack of any consultation or even pre-warning is in my view arrogant. Either that or totally thoughtless.

Not that I thought the name change served any significant purpose. Are the C&CC going to change there name now to include motorhomes etc??

A substantial number of the regulars do not regard this :"new" development with favour. What it has done is motivate the 'silent majority' to put pixel to screen to express their views. That alone should put the powers that be on notice that they have got it seriously wrong. It's not about the logo per se but rather the blatant waste of money that is needed elsewhere.

    Good post CY.

I am in favour of the club being more inclusive and adopting fresh thinking but I am totally against the £100,000 to £250,000 (my gussstimate but based on a re-branding exercise I was once involved with) the re-branding is going to cost members and abandoning a recognised brand that is known even outside the immediate camping fraternity. That's just bonkers when sites are closing (pitch availability reductions) and a number of sites need money spending on them.

Don't get me going on the ice cream logoyell

I think you may be missing a zero off the estimated cost of this exercise, Fysherman. Conservatively I would reckon it is north of a million.

In the new sites directory it looks like a new AS site will come into use in Shropshire. Is this the one the OP has heard about?

It's called Love2Stay, on outskirts of Shrewsbury. Owned by dealers, Salop Leisure. Not sure on opening dates yet, but could become a honeypot, close to big interesting town, HS throughout, serviced pitches throughout. All about the new breed of tourer.

Hi TTDA, you surely mean the new breed of "intrepid explorers" . That site sounds right up their street.

Ha ha, my spirit of adventure is still finding a more remote spot, cooking over an open fire and skinny dipping at dusk! NT's campsite down at Lansallos just about fits the bill, but outside of school holidays of course! Don't think we could get the MH down the lanes though, never mind, could use the tent......laughing

    Exactly!

JK - you may not be aware of (or take any interest in) the activities of your employer, but perhaps best not to have a pop at those who do know (and care) without knowing all the facts, eh?
