Length of the high pressure LPG hose/
My caravan has just been for its annual service at an approved workshop I have not used before.
I have been advised that the LPG high pressure hose from the cylinder to the regulator is to long and should have to be no more than 450mm.
I have never heard of this restriction before and I see suppliers advertising hoses longer than this length.
Anybody else heard of this?

I seem to remember when the reg.was mounted to the bulkhead rather than on the cylinder in 2004 that workshops were only allowed to fit short hoses but an individual could fit any length they desired! The rules on gas etc.seem to change every 5 minutes and only paid up members of the various bodies are advised!I would request a copy of the relevant regulations and go from there!

It is mentioned in HERE
It is covered in BS EN 1949:2002
Essentially
Current regulations for hoses
High Pressure: a MAXIMUM length of 450mm, except for motorhomes with slide out tray mounted cylinders where 750mm is permitted.I believe this is still current, but others will say for sure if I am not correct.

If this is still current, how come respected suppliers such as truma and gaslow offer longer lengths for sale?

Truma offer two, 450mm and 750mm
Gaslow (where I bought my SS hose) offer the same 450 and 750mm but also 1.5 and 2.0 metre for (I'm guessing) interconnecting their twin bottle system?
Also,I said "I believe" the reg to be current but happy to be corrected.

The standard mentioned is not a legal requirement. There is no legislation restricting the length of the hose. A trade organisation called NCC have included the requirement mentioned in their safety recommendation. There is no legislation imposing this either.
