Has anyone stayed at this site, just outside Shrewsbury?  Only just spotted it HERE. I don't know if it is new to the network (an Affiliated site), but I've never seen or heard of it before.  All the pitches are Serviced or Super pitches on hardstandings, so I have added it to the list of Serviced pitches.  There are no reviews on this website, but there are a couple of reviews on UK Campsite,co.uk HERE.

The reviews are of the site as a CS. Looks like it has recently been redeveloped then as the info says that there are now 120 pitches.

Also although it says open all year and has obviously been open for a while, there are no prices until May. So perhaps not affiliated yet but work in progress. A web page that we should not have seen yet, perhaps.

I don't know, but I would have thought that many would be booking already for the May Bank holidays and particularly families.

I wondered that to start with, and then also wondered if the writer had got the usual meaning of the abbreviation CS mixed up!  In the CC we call them CL's and CS could also stand for Camp Site??  Just my initial thoughts?

Just found the Love2Stay website, and it looks like it has been redeveloped.  It says opening in Spring 2017, so it's obviously a re-incarnation of something.  The website is still under construction, but it may well be worth keeping an eye on HERE.

Be interesting to see what Club Members think. Most of sites are AS in this area now.

It's a big new site and will have a marketing and advertising budget to bring it to people's notice. Part of that budget is paying a fee to this Club  for publicising the site on the Club website as "Affiliated".   Whether that will continue once the site is well established and well known is yet to be seen.

I am rather surprised that as these things take a while that the CC magazine has not had an article trumpeting its joining as an AS.

The CC needs more owned sites but I am happy to see more AS sites added.

I am surprised there is a need for a second site at Shrewsbury when this excellent site is already there?

What I don't quite understand is that I thought sites that apply to be an AS have to be inspected by the CC.  If the site is not yet open, I wonder what the process is for being an AS?

Hi David.  As far as I'm aware, Oxon Hall isn't a CC Affiliated Site.  It's a bit odd as Stanmore Hall at Bridgnorth and Ludlow (also Morris Leisure) are AS's.- not sure about the other Morris Leisure sites - haven't checked.

There may be a different level of facilities that might appeal to some David K. I suppose that the same could be said about the two club sites at York! Not sure but did I read that the new site has all serviced pitches?

Although the site is not open yet DSB  it is quite likely that it is all but completed as opening appears about 10 weeks away.

Look at the publicity it's getting already !

If a new commercial site opened at Shrewsbury few would notice.  But as it is there will soon be punters out there saying, But it's not "commercial" (we don't like commercial). This new site is "affiliated", that's different.

Good move by the Club. Good move by the site owners. Win, win.

Wonder  if  they  will  have  a  trade  stall  at  the show

next  week   undecided ?  Not  far  from  N.E.C.  so  locals  who

pop  in  for  a  look  round  the  show  could  be  interested

    perhaps ?!

So, what makes you think it's going to be an affiliated site at all??

It's situated right behind Salop Leisure's Caravan sales site, on the road that heads towards N/T's  Attingham Park, and close to a busy roundabout. There will certainly be a fair bit of traffic noise.

That's what I thought Nellie, right by A5, very busy road. Salop Leisure have come in for a bit of flack from locals regarding expansion and new site.

Got a lot of features that might attract some Club members though. On the plus side, if you buy a new van from them and something goes wrong, at least you can possibly have a holiday close to dealers while you wait for them to put it right, so all those weeks won't be wasted!

Called in at Salop yesterday the problem is they could not answer when the site will open or when they will start to take bookings, but you can register your interest and they will call or email when the details are available they may be open Easter but I think they could miss out if we are not able to book soon.

Sounds like a bit of bad planning there. Surely they should have held off announcing the site until they were sure of an opening date. Those wishing to book and can't will be more reluctant to contact them again, IMO.
