i have just bought a 2015  elddis affinity 554 ,on trying to fit my alko side jack brackets the wooden  support for the mud flap is stopping them being fitted. Has anyone had a similar problem.

As was stated when i queried that the outlet for the wastes on our caravan obstructed the fitting on one side of the alko jack brackets, our manufacturer stated"we do not design our vans for after market fittings"?so its a matter of working round ityell

thank for your reply, I had that problem with my last van but this is a solid block of wood attached to the underside of the floor holding the mud flaps. I think  it might a case of removing the mud flaps it is screwed and glued so maybe a chance of damage to floor.

As is the case with most things the "designers?undecided" of caravans really have no idea of the way their "ideas" do not work in the real world for the end usersfrown

It's obvious that ALKO designed these to fit caravans as they existed at the time, without mud flaps. A bit of trimming has to be done but I remember it took a couple of minutes that all.

My last caravan came fitted with rackets, I assumed all caravans had jacking points, otherwise how can you jack it up on an uneven surface?

Could the OP's problem here be that Elddis vans don't have an Alko chassis? Do BPW as the chassis manufacturer sell suitable brackets?

    Elddis also use Alko now.
