You would be better trying a Hyundai forum, i cannot recall ever seeing an iX20 on the road let alone one towing.

Hyundai and KIA are the same vehicles except for the badges!?

PS. And the length of the guarantee.

The ix20 is the kia ceed with a different badge and only 5 instead of the Kia 7 years warranty? so towing should be no different

ix20 = Kia Venga, not C'eed. Whilst neat cars, I don't think I'd want to tow 1200Kg with it. I know it's a different beast but my OH's runabout is an i20 and the ix20 isn't that much chunkier.

As I've said before on this forum I work for a motor dealership with Kia as one of the franchises.

The IX20 is indeed a Venga wearing a different badge.

The only Kia vehicle I would tow a caravan with is a Sorento.  That opinion is based on my involvement in Customer Care and dealing with customers first hand.

If the police are using them they must be cheap to repair.

It's basically the same as my Kia Venga. Mine is a 1.6 petrol automatic. It's a lovely little car but I couldn't envisage  using it as a tow car. The 1.6 diesel might be a different cup of tea but as a car it has quite a small footprint although it does have a wheel in each corner so no rear overhang to think of which is a good towing configuration.

Re KIA and Hyundai  are same car company, so does that make Audi, Seat and Rolls Royce a Volkswagen, l have the Hyundai Santa Fe nothing like the KIA in Style might have the same engine and gear box but so does numerous other cars use engine and gearboxes from different Manufactures. The whole car industry is a con just look what general motors are doing to Opel and  Vauxhall you can bet Vauxhall will be the loser due to cost of getting rid of German workers, look who they hope to sell too, low and behold the its the Volkswagen group under different name

What???!!! For accuracy Rolls Royce is owned by BMW..... I think you need to research how car platforms are engineered and shared across different marques under the same ownership.  Hyundai and Kia share much more than engine/transmission assemblies. Another example is The forthcoming new Insignia will also be the basis for Buick and Holden in some markets. I am also aware some Police authorities use Hyundai and Kia' however I didn't know they used ix20's..... somewhat surprised albeit some Police forces used to use Protons, of all cars! And for what its worth, perhaps Vauxhall jobs would be more secure and less under threat from the potential PSA take-over if more of us bought British made cars......Sorry for the topic drift and now back to the OP.....

Don't disagree with you about the looks.  However in our parts department a lot of the "underskin" parts come in dual branded Hyundai/Kia boxes.  Just like the SEAT boxes come joint branded with Skoda, VW and Audi.

Stand to be corrected on R&R, then they own the other Bentley, l stand by what l say, l know for fact that the 07 to 09 Mitsubishi Outlanders used the Volkswagen engine, Seat run off the same running gear as Audi who are owed by Volkswagen. Ford own Jaguar l could go on

Different courses for different folks. We were quite happy with our Kia Ceed 1.6 diesel and towed all over Europe for the 5 years we had it. It really depends on whether the caravan is light enough to be accomodated. Ours is as its only 1 ton, meaning a ratio of just under 70%. Bit different with 1200kgs but with a Ceed would still be doable. Seen much worse.
