Pitch Markers & Caravan Location

We were at Chester Fairoaks last year and the warden who booked us in certainly did remind us to pitch to the offside corner. This has been the position on all club sites we have used over the last two or three years so pitching to the middle is certainly unusual if there are sites that do that.

Almost all CC sites require the layout described in previous posts. There may be exceptions on some sites but if so the wardens would definitely explain them on booking in. A few years ago there was an experiment with marker pegs showing the centre of the rear of the pitch and it was OK to park almost as you wanted, but that didn't last long and sensibly (in my opinion) the pegs were moved back to the rear offside (or front nearside) which is the best position especially if reversing onto a pitch.

Last summer at Broadway , caravan had awnings both sides & parked car on front of pitch......They were not there long .😇

makes you wonder why they needed two awnings? and why they did't put the car in the second awning?

On another thread you started you stated:-
Due to our travel times we continually experience a problem whereby we arrive onsite on a Saturday by 12:00 and the better located pitches are all taken by motorhomes, we have a caravan & awning.
Given the use of the word continually, I find it difficult to believe in all your visits to CC sites you have not been advised how to pitch, so why assume centre to the peg? During the last few years all except one of the numerous CC sites we have stayed on have used the standard configuration, shown in the diagrams. The only one that was different was Chatsworth, which for a time had two pegs and the caravan had to be located between them.

My dear old mum used to tell me to engage brain, listen and focus! Sometimes that blah, blah, blah, still just went straight through without being recognised let alone being processed! Can't be just a male thing mind 'cos I now find myself saying the same to Mrs YSF on occasions.
