Oh dear, I can see it now if the club decree that they are not just for those poor unfortunate genuine and unintentional late arrivals! Those camper vans/motorhomers amongst us will just use them willy nilly to stop for one night, fill up, empty and having paid the reduced fees be on their way! Now who would be jumping up and down in anger then?

Hopefully K and the rest of us members supporting them! Afterall, we are a club and should consider our fellows! I'm sure they would not discriminate between caravans and motorised ones! The same rules would have to apply!

So keep as emergency pitches in my opinion!

Regarding staff, many sites have a 24 hour presence including club sites

Indeed David. However I am not aware that they are paid to be on call at 11pm or later. I for one would certainly not wish to involve them at that time of day unless in an emergency. I am grateful for the work that they do and there general attitude and helpfulness that I have personally experienced and in return want to make their lives as pleasant as possible.

Surely the OP as to contact Broadway direct & speak to the warden there concerned with the day to day running of the site , to clarify his situation & get advice how best to proceed .

I'm not certain from his post that he as  booked the Wednesday yet & just intends to pay for Wednesday night on the LNA first thing Thursday morning when he books in .

I'd certainly ring the site & speak to someone...... It's just common sense .👍

If the op genuinely isn't bothered what time he gets on site the next day (and I can't really believe he's prepared to sit in the caravan in the car park just outside the barrier with his kids till 12 noon)........then why not just set off at 8am the next day?

The obvious answer is that he wants to be let onto the site early morning.......well before 12 noon. And he's prepared to pay a reduced nights site fee to do that.

Just take the previous afternoon off work and do it genuinely, Onepjg......that's the way to do it.

    Hi All

I've amended my booking to include the Wednesday. I shall call the site by 5pm on the Wednesday and tell them that I will not be arriving until 11pm ish. If the wardens tell me that creates a problem I shall stop at the M40 services instead.

I don't really want to take the Wednesday, or any part of it off, as  it will effect others over the half term, who have children,

The M25 can be horrendous at 8am, they don't call it a 'giant car park' for nothing.

The reason I asked was because I couldn't get an answer on Sunday, so thought I'd ask on here, in the hope of a quick, clear reply !!

I have to be honest, storm in a teacup springs to mind and I think Deleted User User summed it up perfectly .... They put a man on the moon but..........

    Thanks Everyone

    Peter

As I see it there is difference between being willing to pay for the Wednesday night and having a booking for the Wednesday night. Surely the LNA ( as has already been stated) is for the member who has a booking but is in the unfortunate position of not being able to arrive before 8.00 pm owing to unforeseen circumstances. Planning to arrive after that time without a booking is contrary to the intended purpose of LNAs. Being willing to pay is neither here nor there. If you have booked from the Thursday then arrive on the Thursday after 1200 or 1300 whichever is applicable it's that simple.

That's OK then. Booking the Wednesday night won't affect them. undecided

The truth is that it suits you to arrive on the Wednesday at 11pm. Why talk about people with children as it makes no difference at all.

There's a lesson here onepjg, never ask a question on CT, if you do you will have your life finely picked over by folk. It must be quite daunting having a question then reading how some posters carry on. The atmosphere on CT these days is aggressive & controlling.

    Rocky 2 buckets

Thanks for that. In one of my earlier posts I typed CLUB TOGETHER in capitals in a post, quite deliberately. Its suppose to be TOGETHER and I was trying to remind people, but I must agree the 'atmosphere' is not particularly pleasant.

I'm use to 'rowing my own boat' so I can deal with it, but I wonder how some people must feel if they get this sort of reaction. It wouldn't really encourage you to get involved.

Really? Tell us which ones are worse, Husky. This is the only one I've found in 10 years of van forum reading where trolling and nastiness run amok almost uncontrolled.

Sometimes when helpful and friendly views are provided which are not really what was expected or wished for then the heels can get dug in.  Shame really that some can't see the benefit of different perspectives and use these positively to help others or question their own understanding. It's not about getting one's own way at the expence of others, it's more about coming together for the common good. In order to do this we all need to keep open minds and consider the alternatives provided and be a little more tolerant and considerate.

smile Hope you find the help needed onepig to enjoy your holiday alongside your fellow members.

Perhaps you simply don't see what's going on, Husky. Much is not what it appears on CT. Surely you don't accept what you read at face value without realising the undercurrents that exist.

Do you really think it's acceptable for the OP here to be subjected to the comments he's received. In my view, his proposal is not on but it's his choice and all he needed was a few answers and guidance, not to have his motives and ways questioned.

Of course I know what's going on ,I've had my views questioned quite strongly ,but that's life , nobody has to post on any forum ,and if they think that life is all cosy then people must be deluded

I will debate with any one ,and disagree with them if necessary, but I will respect their view and leave it at that ,

off to take the dog for a walk !

Which seems to imply that you consider the treatment meted out to the OP to be acceptable.

They rarely read it, Barking. The forum seems to be very low down on CC's list of priorities now. That's why it's is the state it's in - both content and software.

Perhaps you could show me some "treatment melted" out to he OP, I've just read it through and can't see anything against T&C's

I think this is a question that should have been asked to one person only ,and that is the warden of that site , why ask members ,we don't run the sites ,so how would we know ????
