Taking the Santa Fe to my Daughters in Lytham to see our Grandson, it will be the first time on the motorway chance to see how it does on fuel compared with the shogun, also will checkout the cruise control. The round trip should be around 140 miles, getting ever so close to the 1200 we need to do before towing, we should have done around 900 miles in the SF when we get back. Should have covered the 1200 miles for our first trip in March, let you know how it performs.

Just got back from Bridlington last week . first time towed with the Santa -Fe . It had done 1800 miles before we towed to Bridlington to adhere to the Hyundai's specification of not towing until it had done 1200 miles. The boot area was fantastic more than enough space for Awning Aquarole and all our incidentals which has you know can be numerous. the nose weight was a 89llb on the tow bar when measured, with the SF having self levelling suspension rode perfectly level. With the rear view camera l dropped it on the tow ball within an inch just needed a twitch with the motor mover to couple up. Soon noticed the difference between the Shogun when towing, l never thought l would find a tow car that would beat the Shogun but l have to admit SF surpassed it. l have read that some on this forum say they are getting mid thirties when towing, l think that is a bit pie in the sky, l achieved 26 miles going and 27 coming back, admittedly its only done 2K so l expect that to rise as l put more miles on.l think realistic that 29 to 30 MPH could be reached but not mid thirties. l am over the moon with the MPH bearing in mind l was lucky to get 19 MPH out of the shogun. The day we travelled to bridders it was very windy over the M62 but SF coped superbly, bearing in mind l have ATC on the van so that helps. All in all my fears were unfounded so my verdict is that l done it right by changing to the SF. This forum of course helped greatly by reading the all the posts on here, thanks to all them that helped make my mind up.
