Is Autoglym used on caravans and if so how many times would you use it per year? (Average).

Which autoglym product are you referring to?  I do use the fast glass and shampoo. However, the coating on our van makes polishing a waste of time. On our previous van I used to use the dry wash, although wash the van off roughly first. This put a very slippery shell on that lasted 4 to 6 months. It was much better than the autoglym polish.

Steve, I have not done my homework on which autoglym to buy. I have got Fenwicks and will try it. I just wondered if Fenwicks is a better product to wash the caravan. Look forward to your reply.

Sorry have not used Fenwicks. However, I have been pleased with all the autoglym products I have used. The polish, I think it was called showroom shine, was very good on our old van, it was just the dry washes polymer coating was better. Hopefully someone who has used both can comment.

Fenwicks is very good for washing the van and removing stubborn deposits. Have never used polishes.

I use Mer twice a year on my van with the occasional slosh over if it is particularly grubby.

I use Fenwicks to wash the van and I know they recommend rinsing with their other product Bobby Dazzler. I've not used that but the van comes up clean if you leave the cleaner to soak for a few minutes especially on any black streaks.

Thanks for the above replies (and any following ones). I will use Fenwicks - as I have some, and try Mer or Autoglym next year. Once again. Thanks.

I use Fenwicks Caravan Cleaner to wash the caravan and, twice a year, I use Autoglym Super Resin Polish all over the 'van including windows. Perhaps not the cheapest polish, (about £16 per ltr bottle), but is does an excellent job and is very easy to apply. Black streaks just wipe off with little effort and although the roof gets a lot of muck over winter it washes off very easily with Fenwicks.  After a wash I frequently, but not always, use Fenwicks Bobby Dazzler.

I also use the same regime on my car.

Just as a ps. We always take Autoglym Tar Remover with us. Excellent product and used regularly.

Always use Fenwicks Wash followed by Bobby Dazzler. Gave up using polishes years ago for one it is hard work and two after several coats they seem to actually attract and trap road film making the surface look dirty no matter what you do.

I clean our caravan at the beginning of the summer season with Autoglym super resin polish, that I think works very well,  then the rest of the year I wash the van with Autoglym bodywork shampoo conditioner,  I was informed by Autoglym that the shampoo conditioner will add more wax with every wash,   I know this seems to be sales talk but it does work very well. I also use Autoglym fast glass on car and caravan with great success.
