Advice please on caravan roof covers
Hi everyone,
I'd be grateful for some advice on the practicality of using a caravan roof cover (not a full van cover) - in particular which makes are best and whether it can be put on by one person.
We are very fortunate to have just acquired a new Coachman 575 van which has a solar panel fitted to the roof.
I want to keep the roof clean (as I have always done with my caravans) and usually wash and polish with Autoglym at the start of every season. But the van is at a storage site and quite exposed to the weather and by the end of a few months in storage it
gets pretty dirty, especially the roof.
I'm thinking of getting a roof cover but have some questions. Can I get a cover with a clear panel where the solar panel is located? What are the best makes of cover to look at? Will I be able to put it on alone (I usually take the van 25 miles down to
storage after dropping my wife and all the "stuff" at home)? And finally, what is the size and weight of a folded cover - because we collect the van and go straight off on a trip, so would have to carry it with us.
I'd be grateful for any thoughts on this.
Thanks

, Hi ,I had a cover made for my "Autocruise" by 'Protec Covers' (see ad' in magazine) They positioned a vision panel for my solar.Good breathable covers. Not too heavy. When you put them on or off ,try and use the breeze/wind to ad lift .I managed it on my own all the time .Good luck ..
