Most M/H friendly county

My question is which county in the UK have members found to be the most M/H friendly ,with parking etc,we have only had our M/H a year and haven't been out in it as much as we would have liked, this year we are going to Devon, Yorkshire and Cumbria,

    Not sure what you consider "friendly" HD, but if you're after a motorhome friendly welcome, then from my experience over the last seven years it's Cornwall. Yes, narrow lanes etc but the CL's, wild camping, and above all, my site will see you welcome.

    JK, by "friendly" I mean being allowed in car parks ,parking at attractions,villages welcoming M/H's

    ive always had a friendly welcome by all wardens smile

    Not sure what sort of attractions you would want to visit but Motorhomes are often in National Trust Car parks some of which are chargeable some not.  Free parking if you are a member.

    I think most counties are much the same for parking,when we had m/vans it seemed that because of the the "few",  residents in some areas were becoming more vocal about parking and councils were introducing more restrictions (mostly coastal resorts)other restrictions were being introduced ie height barriers,to discourage "parking" by some types of "travellers/tourists"

    Ps Do you have a Blue Badge for OH,?if so parking is much easier,we took a friend in our m/vs on several occasions and we were allowed to park in places out of bounds for others

    Dont know about counties but Scottish towns like Fort William have dedicated M/H, Caravan spaces in their car parks at £1-50 per day. Very handy if you are going for a train ride etc.

    I think you mean Some Scottish towns? as is the case in other areas of the uk

    We have been to lots of counties with our admittedly small MH, and as long as you do a bit of research, we haven't had any problems, even parking in towns. We know Yorkshire well of course, so love it here, and I am guessing that away from seafronts at Scarborough, Whitby, Bridlington, which spoils the view for everyone, there are no problems parking up. We had a lovely time on our visits to North Norfolk, plenty of easy parking, even at places like Wells, which can get busy. Northumberland is lovely as well, a real trek for you, but lots to see and do. 

    I wouldn't say we have come across any unfriendly counties in truth! Some have narrow lanes, but there is always a way around!

    Just as an add on HD, Devon is one of our favourite places. We use Exeter Racecourse site, which has two areas, one HS, the other is very CL like, slightly set away from main facilities. It is very MH friendly, and is a great base for getting around, as you have major routes on your doorstep, lots of NT places to visit, and Dartmoor. Dog walking on the site is superb, and there is a hard road around the inside of the racetrack, so good for mobility scooter. A lot of folks use this site mainly for overnight stops, but we found it perfect for longer stays, and, even in peak season, it is a very reasonable price. Ok, a bit of road noise on main pitches, but hardly noticeable on the CL type area.

    I picked up a booklet in MMM recently which was a guide to motorhome parking, very useful but I can't say we have ever had problems. Well we did have one! We nearly ran into a barrier at Freshwater on the IOW, but that's the only one I recall. I don't think we try to get our M/H everywhere, we use sites as a base. One thing we've learned is to get to places early in busy areas.
