Peter Capaldi is to leave the show at the end of the year.   A good move in my opinion. Peter is an excellent and versatile actor and has wasted over two years  of his life and his great talent on a second rate kiddies programme.

Best of luck for the future Peter.

Doctor Who is more of an adult programme these days, generally much darker than it used to be. I think Peter Capaldi, as fine actor as he may be, took it in a different direction which I don't think has worked as well as previous holders of the position. Of recent holders of the role I think Matt Smith came closest to how the role originally was conceived but I have enjoyed other actors in the role but less so Peter.

Although I accept that Peter Capaldi is a good actor, I don't think the Dr Who role has really worked too well for him.  I welcome a change.  Of recent years, I prefered David Tennant in the role.
