I went to change the Calor Gas propane bottle over on our last trip & the rubber tip/gasket stayed in the bottle rather than on the handwheel connector. It is slightly damaged and needs to be replaced. I can buy a whole new length of hose with the bulkhead & bottle connector but wondered if I can just buy the rubber tip as a separate item?

Thanks in anticipation

Just a thought. Rubber pigtails have a life of 5yrs where the S/S ones are good for 25 yrs. How long has your pigtail got left? Might be worth considering a new one?

Thanks for those replies. We have a couple of local caravan dealers who, hopefully, will have the rubber "POL" that we require.

The pigtail itself is dated July 2014, so we have a few years yet before we need to consider renewing it.

    Thanks again.

Yes they are available, my Gaslow S/S handwheel  pigtail  POL gasket was also damaged. I got 2  genuine Gaslow ones online for very little cost. So now have 1 spare. Yes, mine is certified until 2024.

I've just Googled them. The first link I followed was to Ebay, where two cost £2.99 with free 2 day postage. Which, unless you have a dealer on your doorstep, should prove cheaper and greener than fetching them in person. Unless of course you need one immediately.

Just a postscript to this thread.

I did as others have suggested & purchased the Propane Rubber POL gaskets [online] which initially looked fine.

But, on re-installing the hose with these new [Gaslow] rubber gasket on, there was obviously a gas leak.

Mystified, I went to a caravan dealership in Wisbech and asked them to explain what was wrong. It appears that the Gaslow units are a slightly different profile to the original one [longer & pointier].

They didn’t keep the proper [Calor?] gaskets [even if they are available!] so I had to purchase a complete new hose and handwheel. Not a major issue as it was just over £10.

    So all is now well.

So beware, the Gaslow part O1-8010 is NOT suitable for a Calor Gas Propane cylinder.
