Nissan Cruise and Speed Limiter Function
We are considering a new tow car but cannot find another make which offers the speed limiter device which we have on our Nissan Qashqai 4X4 auto. We find it very useful when towing on busy roads where a constant change of speed is necessary and when a momentary loss of concentration can result in speed creeping up. I have just had a conversation with a car salesman who tried to convince me that using cruise control is just the same: it is not. The downside with cruise (unless it is adaptive) is that the speed is fixed. We may decide to buy an X-Trail for this feature alone. I wonder if other caravans find this option as useful as we do.

I have CC and a speed limiter.
Never use the latter as i don't actually see the point of it.
If i go over any speed limit, a speed limit sign on the screen changes colour, and I've also set up the audio alarm to verbally tell me I'm speeding.
So i can still speed but it would require ignoring a colour changing speed limit sign, and an audible warning.

I've got one. It's called a throttle on my car.

Slightly off thread - Our Merc has adaptive cruise control and a speed limiter, both will apply the brakes if travelling downhill (most cruise controls do not apply braking). In this regard there is a warning in the manual when towing not to rely solely on these functions when going downhill due to risk of overheating the brakes and or excessive brake wear. They instead recommend the use of gears to increase the engine braking. On the face of it this might seem obvious but the warning is presumably to avoid drivers towing being lulled into a false sense of security. I have had experience of overheating motorhome brakes dropping down into the Inn Valley in Austria and remember it well !
