Hi folks,

I'm looking for a boot-liner to protect my new car from my mucky-mutt. The last time I tried one it was too slippery and the poor fella went skidding nose first into the back of the seat!  Can anyone recommend a good non-slip liner for me please?

Costco have them designed specifically for this and also work for the back seats with straps attached

Geoff - I bought an excellent liner from a company called Titan Covers.  Bit expensive but they are made to measure for specific cars and fasten around the boot using velcro (the hook bit just sticks to the carpet so no need to stick anything to the car).  They are very good quality, substantially made from a sort of canvas material - washable or wipe clean.  When I bought a new Touareg, almost two years ago, like you, I was keen to protect it from general dirt plus a scruffy mutt and the back of the car still looks brand new.  I would recommend getting the optional extras to protect the bumper and back of the front seats (for when the back seats are folded down) - especially with a dog.  As I said, they are expensive - I think my whole lot came to about £120 but given the price of the car, was well worth it in my opinion.

I know I'm tight but is there anything wrong with a bit of left over carpet cut to shape?

Check out www.hatchbag.co.uk  I've had these in my last two cars and can highly reccommend them.

The last two i have bought have come from ebay. They have both been the purpose made type as per each car and each has a folded edge to catch any spillage.Neither was expensive and well worth the money.

that's what I always said but the back of my old Tucson is disgusting! The dirt and grit gets into every nook and crevice. A fully fitted liner protects the whole boot space and protects the walls from the spray when he shakes himself dry (as he always does after he's got in the back!)  Thanks for the suggestions folks, keep them coming.smile
