New Certificated Locations.

I really miss being able to click on New Certificated Locations to see if anything has cropped up in our favourite areas.

I know new CLs are listed in the magazine every month, but when we opened our CL in 2010 it was helpful that we were flagged up straight away on the CL search page.

Would it be possible to re-create the Sticky for New Certificated Locations so that owners can at least introduce themselves on Club Together.

Can this please be made a sticky as Susan has suggested?  As far as I'm aware, there is nowhere else for new CLs to make themselves known....sadly.

I have made this sticky as requested. However I will monitor the use of this thread  and if it is not used I will unsticky it. As I have expressed before my concern is that this will be the third sticky in this section and the more stickies we have the less discussion posts can be seen on the main page.  I hope people feel that is fair.

I thought that stickies were left regardless of the number that uses them, instead of new post being open willy nilly on the same subject.

For everyone who wants a sticky there are usually ten who don't. If it gets used it will stay and hopefully develop into a useful database for CL users. However if its not used there is little point to it. It will also depend on how the main site CL page develops. What might happen later is creating an Important Information thread where the links to all the relevant details could be listed in one place. But that does involve quite a lot of work.

Like the look of your web page, but suggest that you include your address & telephone number on it, especially at the moment when there's no certainly on the Site Directory ever arriving and the poor performance of the CC CL web site.

If the previously WELL used Sticky had been correctly transferred over then there wouldn't be this problem.

Give CL owners a break, David, at least until the CC can get its act together.

I emailed to ask why New CL's had been removed and the reply simply told me how to navigate to 'book a c.l'.

Presumably some training on how to read through an email would be useful....

I trust you will be following this point through via email?

This isn't the first time I've read this sort of reply on here recently.

It's new everything, website, magazine, and sites book, last one being issued later than usual.  I sincerely hope that there will not be similar dissatisfaction with with the latter sealed.  Maybe all the staff are new too?? LOL

Could I gently remind everyone that the purpose of this thread is for owners of new CL's to post details of their sites, not as a general discussion area, unless you have specific questions about the sites being posted.  Please feel free to start a new thread if you feel the need.

Has there not been any new Cls since January? Seems pointless having this as another sticky. With the of system we tried to use new Cls as a matter of course, but the HO tea drinkers now don't give the option " Better" club.

    Hi Fisherman

We have had lots of new members to the CL owners group in the last few weeks and many of them are owners of new CLs.  It has taken us a while to add so many people but now we are up and running we are beginning to help the new ones along.  I have just added a post flagging this thread and suggesting they post on here.  Many of them don't even know about CT!!

Please leave the thread as a sticky for a while longer to give them the opportunity to post about their CLs.

    Thanks

    Nicola

I am happy to leave it as a sticky but in over two months not one new CL has posted details here. If people are going to all the trouble of opening a CL surely they investigate how they might publicise it to Club members? Club Together has the advantage that it is free!!! I know CL's are listed online and in the directory but it's often word of mouth that encourages people to try a new CL. So please do all you can to get new and existing CL owners to post here.

If we don't know about the new ones, bearing in mind the book lasts 2 years and was probably printed late 2016 then the new Cls are at a disadvantage. Surely they can see that posting their sites on here is an advantage.

It never ceases to amaze me how many times questions are answered these days by simply ignoring the actual question and then giving an answer that may or may not even refer to the same subject!!! undecided

Has everyone got a degree in politics these days?  undecided

It's to ensure that a thread doesn't gradually drop down the list of threads and eventually into obscurity. It keeps that thread on the first page of the topic sheet.smile

I must admit I do find lots of sticky's at the start of a forum a little off putting this might sound silly or even imposable but could there be a single link to all the sticky's in a forum so once you know what is on there you can go right to it if there is information you want to find regular but not every visit

    Just a thought

We are not a new CL having opened in 2010 but run an award winning CL in Lincolnshire, we were lucky enough to win the CL of the Year in 2013. This year we are slightly less busy than in past years and still have space on our CL site in July  and August for short breaks if anyone is looking for a top site with spaces during the summer months.  Full details of CL site, including our on line booking form and availability calendar are available via our own website for Greetham Retreat CL

    Hi All,

We are a new CL site on the Isle of Wight.  As we have just opened (May) we are not in the book, or in the newsletter yet.  If any members are thinking of going to the Isle of Wight Festival we have pitches available and are far enough away not be hear and music!

Equally if anybody wants a totally chilled location give us a call.

    Telephone 01983 731873, or email downsview@gyronita.co.uk

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Hi everyone,

As we now have the discussion Monthly CL Opened List and the last post here was in May, I will unstick this discussion but we would like to ask any new CLs to please post details and pictures of their sites in the new discussion which is a sticky (stays at the top of the CL discussions area). Many thanks.
