Club Magazine changes

disappointed with new format. I tried to read the magazine the evening of the day it was delivered but found it difficult, and some pages impossible, to read in artificial light.
the print was too small and in some cases the colour of the type blended with the backgroun to disappear.
I looked late in daylight and theswe problems disappeared. please note we use energy saving lights and the colour balance is not yhe same as the old incandescent lights and daylight this I feel needs to be taken into account.

Perhaps this new 'unreadable' colour palette for both the magazine and the website is all part of the 'company branding'. look how they changed all the signage on site to the new corporate colours.

Have to agree and until I read this thread, did not realise that changes had been made as content was one of the worst in a long time. However one thing that I noticed is that the font seems to be smaller therefore a slimmer magazine. I am guessing that the CC want the magazine to be only available Online so they can increase the salaries for the directors. LOL!

A member for 39 years, I've witnessed several incarnations of the magazine from En Route to the present day and I have to say that this is the worst. From font styles and size to the printing on dark coloured backgrounds the overall readability has suffered, though I doubt the page designers think it important. Of more concern however is the editorial emphasis of the magazine which seems to be diminishing involvement of members, illustrated by the reduction of the letters to one page. On the other hand wading birds were worthy of three pages, of which only one half a page being printed text. Am I alone in preferring more actual reading than whole page pictures? It is no surprise to me that the less the members feel included the more they treat it as a consumer/supplier relationship rather than being a CLUB member. Hence the deterioration of on site behaviour that is regularly referred to elsewhere.

Their are no salaries for club directors. The club is run by a volunteer committee, but reducing the magazine size might just cut postal costs and help the club out a little financially.
I did miss the comparison item which was probably the most interesting item in the old style. What members find in real life use is more use than tests on new items which have not had time to develop faults or deign flaws to become apparent.
The printing against the background colours was also lacking in places although I did not notice any reduction in the font size.

I do not like the front cover style to the new look Caravan Magazine. To me it looks more like a fashion paper with a young woman showing off her newly whitened teeth. It has no relevance to the outdoor life that we are all passionate about. Please let us return to those lovely photos of places to visit and views to seek out on our next holiday.

I like the front cover. I'm not passionate about the outdoor life. I hadn't realised it was a prequisite of caravan ownership.
It's a nice natural photo of a smiling woman. Not especially young, not retouched and no sign of tooth whitening to me. Possibly the club wants to demonstrate that it isn't just targeting the age group that the adverts would suggest

Isn't the lady sat in a MH? There was a man on the cover of last month's mag sat under something made of canvas so I guess this redresses the balance.
Anyway, it's the cover of a magazine and I hadn't even noticed. It's an irrelevance to me.

I see the app is still stealing data. I just downloaded the February addition and Deleted User another, and the app size increased by 130 Mb. Over time this gradually builds up and I need to delete / reinstall to free up space. Not particularly user friendly in this respect.👎

I think the problem, with the front cover is that the woman is smiling. Obviously an alien concept to many on here.
I would like to know how old a stock photo has to be before it passes its sell by date. There is at least one that by my calculation is coming up for its 12th birthday.

Nowhere can I see an advert for teeth whitening, she is smiling and some do it with lips closed and some do it with lips apart. Of course the consequences of lips apart means that the teeth will show, unless you can remove them first.
Perhaps she could have blackened one or two to please the non smiling amongst us, and maybe for those that have run out of something to complain about it could be added to the 'snagging' list.

I'm finding if far too difficult to read the paper mag now with its 'new and improved' miniscule font size. I won't miss reading it.
