Best pitch area for Chapel Lane?
We have booked to stay at Chapel Lane for almost 3 weeks in Feb/Mar and have read reviews about road noise. We like to pitch with the towball is facing north our awning is west facing to get any sun that may or may not appear. Can anyone recommend which area of the site to choose? (assuming we have a choice of course) Many thanks

The choice of pitch is a personal thing and hard for someone else to make a choice for you e.g. near toilets/play area/dog walk/WiFi etc. I do not think it would be too busy this time of year so would say get there, have a good look around and make your choice.
We have stayed there a few times but I do not recall road noise, also although we do like it I would not choose to stay there for 3 weeks with other alternatives available.....

We last stayed there in 2014 and in my site report, with pictures, here I made no mention of road noise so it couldn't have been that bad!!! The site itself is on a relatively minor road although there is a main road across the fields, also there is another minor road at the far end of the site. Have a look on Google Earth as it will give you a better impression. Also if you look at the site plan on this website you can get a general impression of north/south/east/west from the compass pointer. A further point, I expect the site will be pretty full if you are there during the NEC caravan show.

We've stayed there several times around the NEC show time in February. No problem with road noise I recall and at that time of year not usually sitting outside or in the awning. As others have said, turn up and choose whichever pitch suits you.

Hi! I think if you look at the site plan, the pitches in the teens definitely get road noise. We have stayed at Chapel Lane a number of times and like to be in the 60's to 80's, but your choice within that area will depend on your own needs, the compass direction is shown on the site plan.
By the way if you are with BT internet at home, there is a brilliant wifi hotspot just near the site car park!
Bon voyage

If I'm going to a site not visited previously, I usually look at the online site plan and from that you can work out which pitches will have sun and which won't.

Thank you to everyone, your comments are really helpful. We are going to the Caravan show at the NEC, hence the reason for choosing this site. We don't know this area at all so plumped for the closest to the nec. Will take your advice, look at the site plan and have a walk around before choosing (assuming there is a choice to be had!)

We have stayed there several times and noise is not a problem for us. I would say that if you take the pitches at the far end of the sites they are next to a road which is moderately busy. We did notice it but it did not disturb us but noise levels are a matter of individual perception.
Stay near the entrance and you will have no problem though and there are pitches facing all directions in most areas.
