Hi everyone

Please excuse my ignorance in this matter

But can someone explain to me  why a vehicle with a kerbweight of say 1692 kg.

Can tow a caravan upto the same .

Yet the car info states maximum braked towing wieghts is 2.1 tonne.?

That will be ,the max train weight i would think ie weight of towing vehicle + what ever is on the hook, as long as the whole lot has brakes

Does which driving licence you have not need to be taken into consideration?

Also what the car can tow, and what is sensible, are generally 2 different things.

Kerbweight and max. allowable towing weight are completely independent of each other. How close you go to the limit, especially if the caravan weighs more than the kerbweight, is something that only you can decide.
