Ok, here's my opening move
2 adults 3 children 13,14, 17, 2 dogs, 1 pup tent in any date August
The Quiet Site Ullswater £61 per night, but actually you can't get this as its a minimum of three nights stay - now isn't that penny pinching/fleecing customers?
While 5 miles away
Troutbeck Head for the same people/dogs/tents
£34.50 and no minimum stay

Now here's a strange thing - I've just tried that again - same details but on my PC rather than my tablet and it came up at "only" £395 - so just £56.50 a night - bargain!
EDIT - even odder - the bargain price above is obtained by entering details on their "quick booking" system, but the previous price is still quoted if you go through the general booking system.
Don't tell me they've got a glitch in their website?
EDIT AGAIN - Dammit - too slow, now when I do it on quick booking it also comes up as £465 - missed out on a bargain there then!

Actually I don't know, but even empty it will still cost.

When I contemplated booking at SB if was a faff. They wanted a deposit, I was asked to ring them to get a pitch of the right size (our MH isn't big) and the number to ring was one excluded from most calling plans. Oh, the advertised 'from' price didn't apply. We went elsewhere.

Good attempt moulsey but as you always say let's look at family prices comparing like with like!
23rd July, 2 adults with 3 children under 17 on a serviced pitch for 7 nights
CC centenary £394.10
Sandy Balls £395.00
OK I'll accept CC is cheaper but which site do you think the children would vote for!

Does SB charge extra for dogs?

I honestly don't know but they may well do.
Just checked £5 per dog per night but dogs are not compulsory

How did you arrive at £394.10 for Centenary? I get £338.10 for 7 nights with 2 adults and the 3 kids on a service pitch.

probably only pasties

Apologies you are correct - ( added an extra 2 children by mistake)

well lucky we spotted that isn't it. I'm sure it was an honest mistake
so cheaper even more then?
Thanks Phil I was going to check too

well that would suit a person who doesn't like dogs then? not you of course

Well, all I can say is that we went to SB last year and it was considerably cheaper than the CC sites in the arwa. And we got a fully serviced pitch (none were available on the CC Centenary site and would have been charged at a coniderable extra charge).
I find the 'distraction' tactics of the CC fan club (popcorn etc) to be both distracting from the op and a clear admission of having 'lost the argument'.
This is supposed to be a friendly discusion forum......please try to leave your prejudices behind and stick to constructive (not nonsence) comments.
