I had that as well and despite assurances that it will be business as usual, the £10 pitches now cost £13.50. Still a bargain mind.

Never really understood the logic while an affiliated commercial is perceived to be better than ordinary commercial.

Hello Heethers. You said it four times so we know your feelings. I suppose people who only eat at Burger King say much the same, "I know what I'm getting" . Stick with it if you are happy.

one might just as easily say, why use a club site when SB is better, far cheaper, has more facilities, has simple access directly to the forest and a footpath to Fordingbridge and another to the local pub.....?

Why? Many reasons. They are open 12 months, non of the CC ones are in the NF. You can get a full serviced pitch for less than £15 (low season) Sandy Balls has excellent walking straight from site. It's not just a full-on site, in winter it's quite pleasent. The shower blocks are as good as the CC ones. You do not get the incessant mowing of the grass!
You need to get out more!

Shower blocks are not as good as CC IMHO, when we were there there was grass cutting. However the low season price is good value as it includes access to the pool and sauna etc. Main disappointment was the HS pitch as you had to drive over grass to get on it but if you have a caravan the full services are good for the price. I suspect high season prices are way too high as the normal commercial site model of low season give away's and high season rip off.

Oh dear - looks like another informative OP is going to turn into a club price/standard versus commercial price/standard spat.
Should I point out CY's first reply indicating a 35% price rise?!!
Personally I'd choose one of the many very good CLs if returning to the Fording bridge area.

We used Sandy Balls many years ago. To be honest, we found it far too 'commercial' for our liking. Very busy, and some of the kids went around unplugging all the EHU cables. This was a bit of a pain, but at least when our kids were small they did take part in one or two of the craft type sessions. If I remember right (but it as been many years ago) we had to ay extra for entrance to the swimming pool.

Moulesy,
Nice bit of selective quoting of CY's post
You forgot to mention 'Still a bargain mind'

Didn't you realise I was being a tad sarcastic - can't do the Smiley's on this tablet.
Absolutely accept £13.50 is a good deal, but personally would rather give my custom to a local CL owner for under a couple of quid more a night (all year round - not just a special offer!) Smiley smiley!

Agree with M, firstly this wasn't about prices of club v non club.
Secondly why is it that some just can't accept that some of us just like going to club sites? As soon as someone post they like going to club sites or even sticking to club sites, straight away people post about how they about trying new non clubs and far better sites? Why are we challenged about our choice to use club sites? Do we ask you to justify your choice of not going to club sites?
Yes I agree there may be better sites out there. and the choice is yours to go where you wish,

Wooho, another CC v commercial thread. If you could just give me a minute to get the popcorn & drink I can then await the regular faces & posts(me included) I do love my CT soap operas

If you check prices at peak for a family of four on a service pitch at say Centenary , there is very little difference.

If you use the 17th July I think Sandy balls is 30p cheaper - as I say very little in it.
