Has anyone else been watching the new series. The first one on Sunday night was very good. One of our favourite shows

    We have it recorded so not watched it yet. We tend to watch BBC  and record ITV as we can then skip the adverts. I think it's an interesting series although of course you are always on the lookout for clues of what he might be in later life. The guy who was in uniform but might now be in plain clothes who calls him mately boy I think eventually ends up as Morse's boss?

    Its interesting that the Italians have followed a similar theme with the Inspector Montalbano series and they are currently repeating the Young Montalbano series on BBC4.

    Yea you are right David the one who calls him matey was his superintendant in the later ones
