2017 Rallies
How can I find out dates for 2017 rallies? I am a bit of a control freak and need to be organised but dairly new to rallying and wanted to pencil in trips now, am I being too keen? I am just too excited...

Hi Everyone
If you click here you will be able to search all rallies for 2017. Make sure you use the rallies tab on the page and if you leave the location blank and put in dates from today to the end of the year you will be given a full list.
Hope this helps.

OMG where to begin:
1. Without the link it is almost impossible to find the relevant section. From the home page you have to go to what's on /search what's on. This defaults to caravan club events. There is a tab halfway down the page you need to select to get to centre rallies.
2. When you finally get there assuming you haven't lost the will to live. If you want to search it would appear that for the first part of the year it defaults to the 01/04/17. Which appears to think is the 4 January 2017. I have tried this on two computers. By coincidence I wanted to search which Rallies were running in April as this threw up this fault.
3. Assuming by this stage the Samaritans have talked you out of ending it all if you do a search at will throw up all the rallies between Christmas 2016 and the end of April. 106 Rallies to be precise so you scroll through this every time you press the page advance at the bottom of the page it takes you to the top of the page why can't page advances be put top and bottom of pages?
4. So when you finally get to the date you want. The rally you are checking for isn't there. So it is not at the time of posting a comprehensive list.
Before you ask I know that this rally exists because I am running it.
Tracy, this rant isn't aimed at you. I am sure that the information you gave was in good faith.
Finally I would like to apologise to any individuals who find the R word offensive.

The main snag with the rally search is not being able to search by location. Previously we could put a place search eg Cornwall and all the centres organising a rally in Cornwall would have their rallies listed. It would be good if this could be restored please.
edit apologies Boff we have both spotted faults which I hope will receive attention.

I think, that the main problem if the software bugs are ignored is simply that the list is not definitive. It does not include every rally being held in the UK in 2017.
In this case I don't think that CC HQ are to blame as presumably not all centres have submitted their 2017 lists and I don't know how onerous a task this is for the centres.
I would suggest that anyone looking to book a rally looks at the local centres webpage. This is by no means perfect because centres run rally's out of area, some local centres list visiting centre rally's or which centre's have applied for a 4B in their area (For those that don't know, a 4.B application is a request for permission for one centre to run a rally in another centre's area)
Finally I hope that the central list is a live document so that it is updated so if more Rally's are received they can be included on it .

Hi Norab, the method of finding rallies has changed somewhat with this new website (haven't done it myself yet) but if you go to the top of this page and put your cursor on Membership (under the CC logo) a drop down menu will appear, on that click on Local Centres, that will bring up the page about rallies and links to Centre websites and Find a rally near you... each centre will put their list up on their website, so you can look through them and see if anything grabs you.

You don't have to be a member of the centre where you live we aren't for example. You don't even need to be a member of a centre to attend a rally you do need to be a member of the caravan club.
The links shown in posts in this thread will give you a partial list of rally's so it is worth visiting a centre's website to make sure.

It did for me but unfortunately only about half a dozen centres lists are there yet, so not very much to search through.
