Nice post, Daisy, but Ithink you might finda better response if you were to post this in the section for Rallies. You'll find it a bit further down the main directory page. Hope you get what you're looking for.

Your best course of action is to click on membership at the top of the screen and then follow the links for centre contact.  The Welsh centres are at the bottom of the page.  You do not have to go to nearest one.  Centre rallies are also available to you if you register with a centre.  In Scotland we have just received a book giving details of all the rallies in Scotland. Good luck.  Enjoy the social side of the CC.

Thec local centres running Rallies close to you are

    North Wales.  http://www.northwalescentre.co.uk/2017%20rallies.htm

    and

    Cheshire.  http://www.cheshirecentre.co.uk/rallies.html

You don't have to be a member of a centre to attend a rally just a member of the caravan club. Although we live in Wrexham we are members of the Cheshire centre.  We have just returned from a New Years rally where the ages ranged from 4 months to 80(ish).   I would look on the websites and contact the rally secs and I am sure they would be delighted to answer any questions you may have.

For information, this post was originally posted in General Chat. It was perhaps a 50/50 whether it went in rallies of here but I assumed that the OP might like both sides of attending rallies which she might not get if posted in the rally section. I am not against moving it again but might give it a day or two here to see how we get on, but will keep an eye on it.

Hi DaisyAlfie, rallying is definitely the social side to caravanning, it is just a case of finding the group to suit you, there are loads of centres all over the country and as has been said you don't have to join a centre to try out their rallies, so i would suggest looking at each centres website where they will have their rally programme and usually pictures too so you can see what sort of things they get up to and gauge the age range too, as that varies quite a lot. The bigger centres are more likely to have a wide selection of rallies (and Cheshire is indeed a fairly large centre, don't know personally about the welsh centres)/  Each rally is run by volunteers from the centre and can be very different week to week, if you are wanting to get away at the weekends after work then look fairly close to home as you don't want to spend too much time on the road rather than on the rally. Try out a few, you might be lucky and find a great bunch straight off but don't be put off if the first one you try just isn't you, there are a lot more out there. Good luck and let us know how you get on. If you need any more information just ask laughing

Definitely give it a try, go to three or four to get a true feel. Most of our vanning is at rallies, but with the 'other' club where we don't need to book in advance. I hope you will be pleasantly surprised and can still be as free and easy as vanning on your own.

If you are looking to get to know fellow caravanners then rallies are likely to be a good choice for you. We started rallying many years ago as a means to extend our caravanning season but now do most of our caravanning on rallies. The main reason for this is the really good friends that we have met over the years. FD is right in that you may need to attend a few different rallies to find the ones that suit you as, although ralliers are generally very welcoming, it sometimes takes a little time to get to know people. Each rally will be different and it very much depends on what you are looking for but give it a go, you may well enjoy it.

Give it a go, it's a nice relaxed way of vanning. Try out some different types of rally, you'll be surprised at the difference, some are very big events with ralliers from all over the country others are quieter local events. Some have more social gatherings than others. We had a lovely time with the Devon and Cornwall centre last year meeting up for the Helston Floral Day, we got together in the cricket pavillion in the evenings (but there's no pressure to join in.) If you're looking to meet people look out for rallies which offer a bit of socialising.
