Seasonal Pitch Question
We've used the same site for the last two seasons and decided to splash out on a seasonal pitch next year for convenience.
Can anyone advise me on the procedure on arrival when the site opens in March?
I know the seasonals are marked with a purple peg but do they tell you before hand where they are or is it just your luck finding a pitch you like?

On the sites I've been on with seasonals, the wardens usually allocate which specific pitches on the sites are to be used as such. They usually dotted about the place. How they are then allocated to you is then down to the wardens. I can only speak from my own experience but it was numbers out of a hat.

Hi Billy65
You basically have the same booking in procedure as a tourer when you arrive for the first time, except you've already paid. You will be given a site map of all the available seasonal pitches to you (purple peg). Report back at reception where you've landed, and job done.
EGH decide the allocation of seasonal pitches for each site but it is the wardens job to decide where on site they go and will advise you if and when you may need to move your outfit.
Hope this is of help

Most sensible wardens we have known will allocate more pitches than are needed for the seasonal arrivals (as they all tend to be the first arrivals when sites open so that there will always be more than one pitch available for the last arrival, then revert the pitches to standard pitches when all in,(saves problems )

We tried a seasonal pitch for the first time this year. The pitches were allocated because the wardens told us they didn't want the seasonal campers together. The pitch we were allocated was overhung by large trees and if it rained heavily at night the constant dripping prevented any sleep. Eventually we asked if we could move pitch. You would have thought we'd asked for the crown jewels by the way they carried on, the assistants couldn't give the OK and it took a conference with the other wardens to clear it . We were allowed to move but told not to tell anybody else. What a palaver.
