Awning leg across window?

Hi All,

We have a small 2-berth (Sterling Europa 460) van.

We are looking to replace our porch awning with a slightly larger one, and it looks as if a larger one would result in one of the legs being about halfway across a window. Has anyone had any experience of using an awning where a leg coincides with a window? Any advice greatly appreciated.

Regards

jamesmc

Hi, a few years ago we had a caravan where the porch awning was across the window ,but it didn't cause any problems only that you couldn't open the window

Thanks Huskydog, I was also wondering whether there would be a problem getting the pole to seal to the side of the van as our window is a bit proud. I'm sure we could live with it as at the moment our porch awning is a bit snug for us and our terrier!

Our awning had a big squashy seal that did the job ,but I also used a bit of pipe lagging at the top and bottom if it was really windy

On our van the inner and outer parts on the front side windows are very close together, and having an awning leg pressing up against the window caused them to touch each other resulting in a powdery residue inside. At first glance the window looks steamed up in one place. Your van may be like huskydogs and not have this problem

Thanks Huskydog for the tip. I think we are going to have to go for it and make the best job we can.
