American motorhomes
Hi
we are club members but own an Thourwinds citation American b class Motorhome and we are finding it difficult to find CC sites that will take us but no problem finding CL sites. Can anyone advise how to find the best sites.
exapmle
wanted to visit knarsbourgh for a few days but would take the booking until late as they " may get " a 5-7 day booking so we ended up on a CL site .
i did think that if you phoned and booked it was a first come first serve basis.
yours frustrated from Sheffield

Have you put your MH length in your details when booking online?
How long is it in metres? Max unit length at Knaresborough is 8.5m Are you too long?
If it fits in the criteria for the chosen site, the wardens know from the booking system to expect you.

Hi,
A motorhome of over 8.5 metres WILL have a lot of problems in the UK, i had one of 7.3 metres and found that towing a small car was the only way to visit places we liked to visit, in the end we downsized to a panel van conversion, we of course miss the internal space, but not the hassle. An RV is no longer than many car/caravan combinations, but you will need to do advanced research to get on many sites, both club and private, good luck.

Access to and movement around a site itself may be an issue as well as pitches being long enough for such units. Best thing is to ring site prior to booking, they may just have one or two suitable pitches which, of course, would need allocating in advance. You never know, that wardens discretion/management, call it what you will, can be advantageous, you just need to enquire!
