Phantom Tracker App position error

Hi

Is anyone else experiencing position errors with their Phantom Tracker?

For the three months the tracker fitted to my Luna caravan has been providing position errors of up to 150 metres when viewed on the app via my laptop. The unit seems to provide a fix whenever the caravan is moved, but thereafter that fix remains in the exact same position until the caravan is moved again. Previously the unit would update its position by a metre or so every day. I have contacted Phantom on three occasions regarding this and say it does not effect the recovery of the caravan if stolen, and will take the matter no further.

My caravan is a 2012 model and I had the Phantom Tracker upgraded to the latest model in 2015 because the original could not find an EE signal (surprise surprise)

Many thanks

I have a 2016 Delta and my Tracker app gives me no information at all!

I have it on my Sony Xperia android phone on O2. What are you using?

As far as I am aware EE has a signal where I store my van.

    Thanks

When in the app the front page gives the overview.

At the bottom of the page there is a location icon, that takes you through to the map.

My 2015 Delta does not appear to update if it doesn't move (in storage) but does the instant that it moves.

I would have thought that the poor accuracy was down to poor network coverage

I have a 2016 Delta and Phantom shows it's position completely accurately on both my phone using the app and on the laptop using the web site. This suggests that it is something to do with your set up.

Yes that was my view also, on the Phantom stand at the caravan show one of their tech guys re pinged the unit remotely on their system and checked the satellite fixes but all to no avail. However the following day the position fix had moved to the exact location of the van.

During a recent trip away the tracker had the caravans position nearly 200 metres away in a farmers field. I set off the alarm a waited for the call from Phantom which happened within minutes. I the re explained my problem. I again got the same answer "It will not effect recovery of your caravan if stolen."

I use a laptop, tablet and smart phone and still get the same error. My opinion is that the unit has a problem but they appear not to want to do anything as it does not effect recovery.

You think you have problems. I have a 4 year old Sterling, and had a Phantom Tracker fitted immediately. Not cheap and subscriptions quite expensive. Caravan in CASSOA Gold storage 20 miles from home. They rang me late October to say that they could not see my caravan as either the tracker was not working, or the battery was flat (the system with Phantom was to inform me of low battery, and I had not had any warning). Would I check the battery. Battery checked, found to be at 12.2 volts, so changed with a new battery at 14 volts. Assumed everything OK. Collect caravan yesterday and went to use mover, but found the battery at 3.5 volts.

Contacted Phantom today, and they still could not trace my caravan despite replacing the battery before ringing them. Quote: "the unit must have packed up". We can update you with a new one at a special price of £99 fitted.

Has anyone else had similar problems with Phantom? Interesting to note that my Insurance Co states that fitting the tracker will not give me any further discount as with Al-Ko Secure Wheel lock, a Hitchlock and Factory fitted Intruder Alarm I am max discount level.
