Low Height Battery
We took delivery of our new Bailey Pegasus and our old leisure battery doesn't fit. It's a low box in the floor of the caravan. I can't seem to find any low enough to fit. Any recommendations or suggestions out there please? There must be many Bailey owners on here

We have a low profile battery supplied by Chipping Sodbury Caravans who are Bailey dealers..
Our van is all covered over for the winter, but if you ring them and ask for a price and make of battery they should be ok with that, they are very helpful.
The battery is classed as 100amps (I think) as per euro legislation I was told. It has been fine with our mover over a fairly long windey drive.
Much easier to fit in the locker.
Just wondering if the van was supplied by a dealer, why was there not a battery fitted?

There was I naively thinking battery boxes were a standard size! On Caravan Talk one poster says his battery at W35.3 x D17.5 x H19 fits his Pegasus. The 110 battery for my Ranger is a little smaller at W30.0 and fits in comfortably (the base box could take a W35.3) although the cables are a tight fit on top. Surprised that you need a low profile battery, but you live and learn!

We found it odd coming from a MH with 2 batteries i.e. starter and leisure battery to a brand spankers caravan with no battery despite a cost of £25k for the caravan and £900 for the fitted motor mover that requires a battery!!
Our dealer did say they couldn't compete with battery suppliers and recommended a specific battery and supplier indicating a lead time and would take delivery on our behalf.
Wot EU legislation was being touted by the dealer dictating leisure battery capacity? Sounds like BS tbh.
Funny old lark this caravanning

I was told it was due to the 110amp batteries not actually being 110amp at all and this did not give a true picture, they were nearer to 100 therefore the ratings should reflect facts. I am guessing that either the 110 batteries available today have been uprated or Pinnochio sold me the battery.
Either way it works as well as my previous one.
