Inconsistent wifi
I don't mind paying for the club's wifi but I do mind paying for something that doesn't work properly. I took out a year's subscription which has worked ok, not good but ok, at Breamish Valley & Chatsworth but Clumber park is awful even the warden when
asked about connecting said "good luck with that". It appears that there is no specific fault but that the wifi there is just, and I quote, "awful". Can I get a refund, small I know, for the number of days I was on site but couldn't get the service I had
already paid for?

The terms and conditions do say it may not be available 100% of the time. I did get on early one morning. As JVB says they do tell you when booking. Given that I can't use my mobile at Clumber, and they don't give a discount. I would not bother asking the CC or Airangel. They are actually working on a fix for Clumber, which will provide good quality broadband. At present I think the speed is less than 1Mb shared between 178 pitches.

From what the wardens said on one site the club rely on a BT connection and some sites are not on the modern fast cabling or too remote from the exchange. On that basis the problem is with BTwho are still working on getting some areas on high speed and that
there is not a lot the clubs suppliers can do on those sites. I gather the problem is often made worse by people streaming videos or at least trying to.0 -

I don't recall there beng any notice about the wifi at Clumber when I booked which would be several months ago at least.

There has been a note re wifi on the Clumber web page for at least a year.
In that case I suspect that having been there before I went straight to booking it ignoring the main page. It wouldn't have stopped me booking the site just annoying.

Currently on a C&CC THS that is part of, but completely seperate from, a caravan park near Ripon. Working WiFi, £8 for 7 days or £2 per day.

the sites in Europe never seem to have issues and they are normally free. My father works on an offshore platform 150 miles from land and get super fast speed. It is 2016 I cant help think someone is making a lot of money from a very poor service.

If you are paying to stay on the site, the correct terminology would be included In the price. At least with the CC you have the choice and are able to try before you buy. As with all Wifi systems they will have a finite capacity. If everybody decides to go on at the same time, say happy hour at the bar, you will struggle to get connected, just as you do on a CC site when everyone comes back from their day out.

We have only been on a couple of cc sites where WiFi has been non existent (as stated in site information) and Clumber Park with a known problem with BT lines,but as with all WiFi there is only finite capacity, even where we live the Bt infinity is slower than some think it should be,because of a nearby "industrial" estate including Tesco Headquarters

...information about WiFi at Clumber Park has been on the booking page for this site under "important information" for more than a year which as with booking any site should be read which if done would probably save a lot of "negative"posts and reviews

We live in a small village not too far from Clumber. Our broadband was aweful, BT wanted £30,000 to instal a green box with fibre, 15 months to install, all at residents' expense, there are 20 houses. So we got a company called Pine Media who connected fibre to an aerial on a barn outside the village, then by wifi to an aerial on the local pub. We all now have a tiny dish on our houses and great wifi broadband. £25 a month for 20Mbps and you can also connect your old land line number. We now have no BT landline and no landline rental. There are solutions you do not have to wait for BT.

The above post set me thinking. Ages ago and now impossible to find one of the CC staff posted that something similar was going to be carried out at Clumber hopefully by July 2016. Nothing happened on this though.
Also perhaps someone can point me in the direction of important information, on the site pages. I can't find anything about wifi, or seasonal canine disease at Clumber.
On the facilities on site it does however say the site has wifi and that it is of bronze standard. No mention that if more than one person trys to get online it collapses. A little misleading for anyone who does not know booking their holidays. Also now there is no site details leaflet there is nothing to tell you that mobile phones do not work.

Forget about my request above re import information. I have found it on the availability page. It is hidden behind a drop down button labelled site overview, rather than IMPORTANT INFORMATION, which takes about 6 presses to get to work.

In view of the Utopian news conference at the NEC yesterday about the Club rebranding etc, where we were told the aim is for all main club sites to have wifi by the end of this year, I sincerely hope that the incredibly slow wifi here at Ferry Meadows will be sorted out, and that non wifi sites like Great Yarmouth Racecourse and Bladon Chains will have wifi provided! I have paid for a year's Airangel wifi and the wifi here at Ferry Meadows is rubbish.

There are serious technical difficulties in getting wifi onto some sites and the quality varies. If you want to pay for the clubs wifi always log in to the club site first as that is free and see how good it is and you will find out if it is worth the cost. Alternatively check with the wardens who will know if there is a problem.
