I started a thread in 2013 with a list of recommended UK sites where no car was needed. You cannot access it now at all. If a Mod or someone at the Club can find it again it would be most welcomed as it holds a lot of very valuable information. I hope such previous stickies can be relocated, if not then I feel this was a sad loss in the migrating processes. frownHere is the original link to it. Regards, Roy

There are a lot of threads missing, I kept an index of URLs of threads that interested me, none of them are available. IT is supposed to be trying to recover them!

In the "Ask the Expert" Section Rochelle has explained that there's still work to do and the 'stickies' will have to be re-added manually which, as you can imagine will be time consuming.

Maybe instead of copying the contents of the old forum to the new one, they should have left the old one intact and closed as read only.

The new forum could have been started clean and fresh.

That way anybody wanting to read legacy threads and posts could do so,-----

but leaving the new forum to be enjoyed by those interested in the present and future.

    Cheers..............................K

Why Jill??? What was wrong with the old site- I have to say I don't like this new system, it's frustratingly slow to get to the thread you want. I thought changing a web site was always with a view to improving it - not so this I think!!

there is obviously a 'migration' process of old format to new...

its also obvious that, for whatever reason, certain sections of the old forum (stickies, some reviews and atories etc) were not migrated.

it should be relatively easy to rerun the migration process but being specific about what to include (the missing groups) and the rerun the 'new feed' process....

no time consuming manual stuff at all, just a little common sense to do the same again on the stuf thats been missed.....

Am I wrong or has the entire SECTION regarding ' Tips on making Touring cheaper' gone? I ask because the thread that was enjoyed by many - ' How to survive a non 240v site ' has gone with it!! This was an invaluable source of info for those wishing to go EHU free ....or have I stumbled over the reason it's gone!!!  I've liked myself!!!
