Two Nationals in one trip...
For many years we have promised we would go north of the border for the Scottish National and this year with the (English) National being way up in Cheshire we decided to head up to Aboyne first, tour around the Highlands then cross back over the border to Arley Hall and what a trip it was. Everyone said Scotland in May, not going for the weather then ! But we were very lucky, no snow, except that on the mountains in our photos, not even much rain, we didn't have two wet days in a row (until we got to Arley of course ) In fact, the Scottish national was glorious, a lovely venue a nice short walk into town and we were pitched right in front of the castle too. From Aboyne we travelled on to Banchory, Elgin, Nairn, Inverness, Fort William and the fabulous Club Site at Bunree, then back down via Loch Lomond, Ecclefechan and over the border to Otley in Yorkshire and a heatwave week before heading into the National at Arley. We arrived on the thursday in beautiful weather but I'm afraid it was downhill from there until finally on the bank holiday monday the sun decided to come back and we could finally finish our sports contribution before packing up and heading home to kent. It will be fun planning the tour between Ayr racecourse and Cornbury Park next year !!!

Sounds like a great trip and lots of fun at both Nationals (despite the weather during the bank holiday at Arley)!
