Longleat Safari Park
Not long back from our week long tour where thanks to a school inset day we were able to stay for 2 nights at the Longleat Club site, lucky with the weather and a brilliant site sitting vertually next door to Longleat house. Here are some pictures from that day.

I have to agree, the Longleat site is an excellent site, suituated within the grounds of Longleat itself. We spent Christmas 2013 & New Year 2014 at this site and have to say that the Staff were impeccable, and made everybody welcome, with the additional
suprise of Carol singing on Christmas Day. We can highly recommend the Longleat Site for both a relaxing break and having the added advantage of being able to walk into the grounds of Longleat at anytime of the day, however you do need to make additional piurchases
if you wish to go around the safari park and various attractions.0 -
We stayed there in August for a couple of nights on the way to Cornwall. Loved it and will be returning.

Longleat is unquestionable a lovely site with perfect facilities and access to Longleat House and grounds. Only sad part is the current approach through the narrow lane which was previously the exit road (and still is) whereas prior to this change the approach
from the main entrance, exiting the trees to the meadow with the amazing view of Longleat House took my breath away the first time I stayed.0 -
There is a brillian CL near there too, at Witham Hall Farm, Witham Friary. It doesn't have electrics, but if you can manage without that it's brilliant. Spacious, peaceful, lovely countryside, next to a fishing lake, lots of local walks and history.

We are taking our 2 Grandchildren (5 and 2) on their first ever caravan trip at the end of July for 6 nights, choose Longleat because of its great writeups, lets hope it lives up to them (have every confidence it will), we are in Newport CC site at the moment
and has a separate room for showering young children, do you know if Longleat CC has one of these.0 -
Have just returned from a 2 week tour which included Longleat for the first time, the site is up to the usual exceptional caravan club standards, however the approach to the site is not good, it used to be safer and wider but I understand Longleat estate
change the access some little time ago, as for Longleat itself very good for families with young children but well over priced, with no entry to the grounds past the security hut without tickets, not the best experiance I must say, and no roaring lions just
braying zebras.0 -
We are in a motor home and have booked to stay at the site next week. We wish to visit the Safari park but obviously do not want to drive around the park ourselves. Is there a bus for "foot passengers"?

Fantastic CC site, and 10 out of 10 for the CCstaff, but having used the site as a stopover on the way back from devon (intending to go to longleat) we were disappointed that Longleat A) felt that a 16 year old is an adult price... and we were not paying
£125 (with discount) for a one day visit (extortionate price)....decided to travel into bath and probably spent £40 and had a great day out elsewhere.0 -
Just returned from the Festival of Lights rallie with east Dorset centre what a fantastic weekend with all the family the staff at longleat were very friendly and helpful, the site wardens were friendly and the fish and chip van freshly cooked all in all
would highly recommend.0 -
Can you still walk around the grounds 'gardens'of longleat at night time.
