Old Van Chronicles - Exmouth Kite Festival 2012
This year we spent the last weekend in May on the green space overlooking the estuary at Exmouth, at the Kite Festival run by the local Rotary Club. Being a member of Sky Symphony Kite Display Team I was there 'on business', as you might say!
Anyway, we had a great weekend, and hopefully the photos will give a little flavour of some of the things to be seen over the two days. You should be able to spot several large manta rays, a horse (!), and even possibly notice the view across the estuary to Teignmouth where the famous 'Cornish Riviera Express' trains used to run along the sea wall (for the train minded!)
At the end of the displays on the Sunday we moved on to Lydford Caravan and Camping Park (CC affiliated) for a relaxing (hopefully!) week, before moving on to Cornwall for our grandson's first beach holiday (10 months old now!) See further stories for photos of these trips.

Oh, I forgot to mention 'Roly the Whale' is in one of the photos, and the Sky Symphony 'broken link' (well, it is for me anyway), in case you want to see what we actually do, can be found (hopefully) by
