spontaneous touring
After a very cold friday at work i came home and suggested to the wife to go away for the weekend. She agreed and we were both excited to go as it will be the last trip of the year. I booked a site about an hour from home its a site weve been to several times and we love it there. We woke up early the next morning still excited and the sun was rising and shining through the kitchen window it was fairly warm for a november morning whice made us more excited to go. We got ready and off we go the the caravan storage which is about 20 mins from home as we get closer to the storage facility the sky gets darker and darker we both look at each other thinking should we be going. As we pull in to the yard there is a van blocking the entrance i got out of the car and the owner came over as he lives on site and says do you need your van out ? yes i reply is this a problem he said no. I followed him through the gate to be confronted by a building site as they are making a new road in to the yard. I said oh we wont be going away then he said no its ok we will get it out we proceeded to move bit of steel shuttering and tools to clear the way then the heavens opened and being in the middle of nowhere it was freezing cold. He went to get his front loading tractor to make a ramp to get the van over the trench as he was doing that the tractor ran out of fuel not to be beaten we towed it out of the way and made a ramp out of some timber lying around. We then with the help of our wifes ( not impressed ) pushed the van over the ramps and up to the car we hooked up jumped in and off we went and the rain got harder and the temperature dropped we thought we must be mad. In the end it was a great weekend and a lovely break and im sure it wont be forgotten and it will be a story to tell. It will be our last break of the year as the van is safley back in storage. We cant wait for next year and more spontaneous touring
