We started out on our rally career just over a year ago. It followed the purchase of our motorhome and the sad sale of our beloved Conway Crusader folding camper.

My name is Terry and I am married to Helen, we have two great children (well, most of the time) Emily (8) and Chloe (7). We have camped as a family since the girls were born but only joined the rally scene when 'Jane' arrived. Jane is the name of our Swift Sundance motorhome. we bought Jane from a hire company who had named her and fixed a name plate to her bumper to differentiate from the rest of the fleet. We quite liked the name as it is both Helen and Emily's middle name.

Anyway, our first rally was in early November 2012. The rally field was to the side of a closed down pub (the Egerton Arms, Little Budworth). We pulled onto the grass and immediately became worried that we might get stuck on the grass. We had read so many stories about motorhomes getting stuck and were very nervous about getting stuck, especially on our first time out.

We were welcomed Immediately, Emily and Chloe were the only children staying on the rally, though there were some visiting children who came for the social In the evening.

Its fair to say that we all had a fantastic time, the rally officers were great and the evening social on the Saturday saw Emily and Chloe being the main entertainment on the dance floor.

When it came to the time to leave we began moving and unfortunately stopped to collect the levelling ramps, I say unfortunately because once we were off the ramps and stopped we became stuck! Fortunately some fellow rallyers rushed to our aid and helped push us moving again, I am so glad we didn't need a tow on our first trip out!

Following this we have enjoyed many rally's, around 20 so far I think so we are not doing too bad for newcomers, and we have not had to be towed once (hope I have not just jinxed us) But I have to say the quality and diversity of the rally's offered by the Cheshire Centre has certainly helped Keeping us coming back.

Our next rally is the Christmas Party rally in a couple of weeks time and I know the girls are looking forward to that one again. Secretly I think Helen is too, I know I am!

I will report back soon, but in the meantime happy rallying!

I am confident that we will, last year it was excellent, and of course the big man was there so the girls loved it!

We have tried the rallying only once but did enjoy the weekend and would not rule it out again but it would very much depend on the site for a number of reasons. I wrote a story about it in the rallies section last February I think. Glad you are enjoying
    it. Regards, Roy
