Beautiful Brora

We stayed in our motorhome for 9 nights in April/May 2012 and were warmly welcomed by John and Cathy Docherty, the Wardens there.  Brora is a lovely site on the Sutherland coast, just 200yds across the golf course from a stunning, almost deserted beach along which you can walk to get into the town. The site itself is kept in immaculate condition and John and Cathy always have time to help with any queries or tips about the locality.  Don't miss a visit to nearby Dunrobin Castle: the falconry display, included in the entry price is absolutely fantastic.  You can actually take the train from Brora as Dunrobin Castle has its own railway station! (Only £2 return).  The golf course itself is well worth playing and is a challenging links course. Lots of lovely quiet cycle runs too.  Highlands Unbridled, about 2 1/2 miles away does treks on the beach (watch out for the seals) and through the countryside and has lovely horses.  All in all a fantastic stay and we will definitely go back there.

    We stayed at Brora for three days on our 'back to our roots' trip last year and agree that it is a beautiful site and the visit to Dunrobin is well worth doing. We visited Wick and being keen amateur photographers, we were really impressed with the Johnson
    collection of photographs taken over three generations which were on view at the Wick Museum.
