Just a short message to inform all members who are reluctant to take the short trip over the Channel. We have just completed our first trip to France and booked everything through the Caravan Club. As normal for a newbie, we were very reluctant to book and pay everything up front, but I must admit once we got over the channel using the paperwork provided with our booking it was easy.

We planned to do our trip in stages. One night at the Black Horse Farm, Kent. Four nights at Le Lac de Orient, champagne region, 6 nights at RCN Belledonne near Lr Bourg de Osians, 2 nights at Le Lac de Luiz near Lazerne, 1 night at Chatau de Gandsped then back over the channel for a night at Bearstead near Maidstone before the long haul back to Scotland. I can honestly say that it was a true road trip of a lifetime and cannot wait to do similar next year. Please if anyone is considering using the Caravan club for a Euro trip, please take my advice and go for it. I cannot thank the Caravan Club enough for ensuring the the overseas sites are at a standard whereby we do not need to worry at all.

I hope this wee blog helps

Thanks Baldylum, we are in that "do we or don't we" stage about France for 2014 at the moment.  We have been caravanning for just under a year and now feel completely confident towing, setting up etc.  But the thought of continental driving in a RHD car
is still daunting.. Knowing that others have had a good first experience is really helpful.

Just go for it Nick from Gwent - you won't regret it. Only time RHD is a prob is overtaking and co-driver is useful. Glad you enjoyed it Baldylum.
