Easter in Skeg vegas
Because of a bad days forecast for Easter Monday we arrived at Skegness sands CC site Tuesday afternoon with the sun teaming down, after setting up and a quick walk on the beach opposite it was across the road for fish n chips takeaway and very nice too.
Next came shopping at Tesco about a mile and half away in Skeggy then a longer walk on the beach, drinks and a BBQ in the evening.
Wednesday after a leisurely breakfast about ten drop the wife in Skegness for a walk round the shops while me and Cody headed off to Gibraltar point, the best plan is to park up next to the public footpath across the golf course then your on the salt marches and the dog can run free, couple of lovely miles walking up to the point and you hardly see another soul unlike the NT car park way.
A couple of hours later a walk round the town before meeting the wife and back to the van to ‘lie off’ for those who haven’t been before Skegness is a working class resort similar to Weston Blackpool etc brash and unpretentious but also charming in its own way, not my favourite by a long way but I like it and it’s the nearest beach to me.
After drinks and Smokey Joe me and Cody headed out the beach/promenade entrance turned left and a ten minute walk are three pubs next to each other, all are good serve meals, entertainment, welcome dogs and little people .
Next couple of days were more or less spent doing the same has the first two with sunny weather and the odd shower and had a surprisingly pleasant break.
