La Croix Valmer is a small resort at the eastern end of the Baie de Cavalaire, on the shoulder of the Presq’île de Saint-Tropez. The old village is surrounded by residential estates, vineyards and pine forests. The beach areas are easily accessible by footpaths or on one of the free shuttle buses that connect with the ‘Le Village’, camp sites and hotels from June to September. The main beach stretches all the way to Cavalaire sur Mer.

The weather here is sunny and warm with clear blue skies and a little breeze to flutter flags and tree-tops. The sea isn’t yet warm enough for a swim, so yesterday we walked along the beach to Cavalaire then came back for an afternoon swim in the pool. The evenings still bring a slight chill, but only after we’ve dined ‘al fresco’.

This morning we caught the ‘navette’ to the village for the Sunday market. Lots of colour and everything on sale from sink plugs to mattresses via sun-dried tomatoes! This afternoon we walked the 400 metres from Sélection Camping to Débarquement Plage to sit in the sun, paddle in the sea, snooze and read.

Sélection Camping is a medium-sized, terraced site with swimming pool, restaurant and a shop. The pitches are of varying size and shape, marked out by trees and oleander hedges. Right now it’s ideal for young families and us ‘oldies’. Without an ACSI we’d be paying 35€ a night: until 30th June the ACSI rate is 16€!

Looks great. One for the list for next year. We haven't been to Cavalaire since about 1990!

Always nice to hear from you, brue Happyand to hear that UK has warmed up at last! We like here so much that we're coming back to La Croix
in a couple of weeks before we head inland.

Today we caught a different 'navette' and visited Plage de Gigaro. Tomorrow we're moving along the coast to Saint Clair.

I think I'll head off for Lyme Regis this week, just for a coffee and an early morning glimpse of blue sea. Glad to hear you are both enjoying your hols, thanks for the reply.Smile
