GREEN CARD INSURANCE (this might be repeat posting - new to this might even be posting in wrong place) we wanted to take caravan to Dubrovinik but have to drive 22KN along road in BOSNIA to get there-  Taken out new car insuarance with Caravan Club Scheme told cannot get Cover for Bosnia only from AXA at very high cost, cancelled.   Gone back to SAGA renewed insurance told me they cover Bosnia but then now told they cannot cover / issue Green Card. Would anybody know who will insure a sensible cost ?  Dont want to use ferry.  Told can get temporary 3rd party Green Card cover at boarder,  has anybody experienced this ?  how much ?  is it easy to get ?  can you get in advance from who ? how much ? (is PD reading this !)   Understand many going to Dubrovnik but do they actually worry about cover ?  somebody help or might go to Italy instead.

You would have been better posting this in the discussions/overseas section. In the meantime, don't despair of visiting Croatia. There's more to the country than Dubrovnik. Try Istria and Northern Dalmatia: the campsites, the scenery and access to the sea
are far better than you'll find on Italian coastlines.

We've been to Dubrovnik in our motorhome using the ferry from Ploce to Trpanj. A visit to the old city of Dubrovnik is a 'tick on the board', but three days at most will be enough: walk the walls and buy an ice cream.

Unless you're taking your van further south to Montenegro and beyond, it's easier to visit Dubrovnik by air on a short-break holiday. We were there last week at the start of a week-long coastal cruise on a small ship (25 passengers).
